Refresh. Your mind feels it. Your body feels it. Everyone around you can see it. No matter what last time brought, you’re confident that this is your time. As you walk into a new situation with new hopes and goals, you feel prepared to take on a new year. The walk to class seems shorter, the time with your friends seems longer and the feeling of suc- cess feels sweeter. It’s a smell. It’s a view. Most of all, it’s a feeling. You’ve clicked the Refresh button on this year and it’s already loading up to be better than ever.

Refine. Once you have something good, there’s no reason why you can’t make it even better. However, fine-tuning and improving an efficient machine is no easy task. You may have to examine specific details that can’t be seen from the outside. It takes tinkering and fiddling with parts and pieces that may be tricky to operate. You may even have to take it apart or remove portions of the machine to install upgrades or replacements. None of this is easy. But the finished product is worth the hard work. Creating something that’s even better is always a sight to see.
