(2) Considers that this is an opportunity for the Government to commit to the 'Build Them Here' initiative and invest in the Hunter's heavy manufacturing industries. (2) Considers the consultant's report commissioned by the Government, which reveals that 58,747 new dwellings could be financially feasible to develop, as evidence that these plans were always for developers, not the community. (3) Calls on the Government to immediately halt plans for mass rezoning, and to deliver instead a comprehensive plan for community infrastructure in the inner west, including schools, child-care, parks and hospitals. (2) Considers that a consultant's report commissioned by the Government reveals that 58,747 new dwellings could be financially feasible to develop, as evidence that these plans were always for developers and not our community. (3) Notes also that the Minister for Transport in his press conference on 13 September 2017 indicated that the Government was considering over-station development, something residents were assured would not happen. (4) Calls on the Government to immediately halt plans for mass rezoning. (2) Welcomes the $500,000 investment in a new bidirectional cycleway from the Pacific Highway to Old Bar and onto Wallabi Point. (3) Acknowledges that this will provide local families in Myall Lakes with safe transport links within Old Bar and will encourage more people to go out and live healthy and active lives. (4) Notes this is a prime tourist region of outstanding beauty and this cycleway will become an attraction for visitors to the Myall Lakes region.
