Thanks guys for helping from view, there’s one point that we all can make this club what it is (whatever that is). agree on; it wasn’t long enough. It never is. And as of this date (7/29) I have a long list of Some of us might stumble into a skip renewals and new members that will be opening in August but the odds are turning printed next month. So keep them dues against us. There’s not much we can do at coming in! this point but start thinking about next From Gary Siegel(OH): “Sign me up for summer. two more years in the club. The evolving For some of us it was a great season. For analog-digital transitions are continuing to most of us it was okay. And for some DXers it affect the hobby. So far more has been lost was just lousy. The excitement level doesn’t than gained, but some DX opportunities still seem as high as it was in other years. Sure exist. One of my best came on 7/4/10 at 1830 there was some great DX. Paul Logan hours when I heard a ch4 during an E skip caught some great FM DX. And he wasn’t episode “Canada and Superstation NTV” ID alone because here is a note from Mike for CJCN Grand Falls-Windsor, NF. Naturally Fallon, another UK FM Dxer reporting another I was thrilled. “Murphy” went away! This was astonishing FM Es reception: TV #750 logged.” Thanks Gary, and by the “It has been brought to my attention that in way, Gary has been in the WTFDA forever, the above issue you have mentioned Paul which is even longer than I’ve been (almost Logan's FM excellent reception of Puerto forever). Rico but, disappointingly, you failed to Richard Gray (NOLA) writes:”Finally got mention my FM Record World distance the CM4251 and the VU-937SR/P8Z plug-in reception of La Voz de la Luz, a religious up and running – both with CM7777 amps. station on 88.7 from Salvaléon de Higüey, VHF analog is a Zenith Round tube color. Dominican Republic on 31 May, 2010 at 1248 Digital is done by DigitalStream OTA boxes. UTC. Distance from my QTH is 4302 With oil on the beach, more DXing than ever miles/6925 Km. is done.” I was alerted to a possible Caribbean FM opening by Paul Farley in Sussex, UK who called to let me know that he was receiving A6 audio on 87.75. I also received it here and it was later confirmed to be Latin American Spanish, possibly Dominican Republic. A few minutes later I heard more Spanish audio on 88.7 with a studio discussion peaking to the W/SW from my location. The recording was passed on to Henrik Klemetz who was fairly sure the station was La Voz de la Luz. I emailed the station with the recording and a reply was received confirming that the clip was indeed their output. I hope that you will be able publish a correction in the near future.” This is one reception that totally flew right by me. But it’s something you should know about. It’s not every day that an FM Dxer in the UK hears DR during an Es opening. Now Looking at this graph makes you wonder if someone on this side could hear an FM what happened in April. Nothing, I think. station from the UK we’d really be thrilled! THANKS!
