So far more has been lost was just lousy. The excitement level doesn’t than gained, but some DX opportunities still seem as high as it was in other years. Sure exist. One of my best came on 7/4/10 at 1830 there was some great DX. Paul Logan hours when I heard a ch4 during an E skip caught some great FM DX. And he wasn’t episode “Canada and Superstation NTV” ID alone because here is a note from Mike for CJCN Grand Falls-Windsor, NF. Naturally Fallon, another UK FM Dxer reporting another I was thrilled. “Murphy” went away! This was astonishing FM Es reception: TV #750 logged.” Thanks Gary, and by the “It has been brought to my attention that in way, Gary has been in the WTFDA forever, the above issue you have mentioned Paul which is even longer than I’ve been (almost Logan's FM excellent reception of Puerto forever). I also received it here and it was later confirmed to be Latin American Spanish, possibly Dominican Republic. A few minutes later I heard more Spanish audio on 88.7 with a studio discussion peaking to the W/SW from my location. The recording was passed on to Henrik Klemetz who was fairly sure the station was La Voz de la Luz. I emailed the station with the recording and a reply was received confirming that the clip was indeed their output. I hope that you will be able publish a correction in the near future.” This is one reception that totally flew right by me. But it’s something you should know about. It’s not every day that an FM Dxer in the UK hears DR during an Es opening. Now Looking at this graph makes you wonder if someone on this side could hear an FM what happened in April. I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday season! So far I’ve heard of just one Es event just before Christmas that very briefly made it to FM and another Es event that was noticed by Chris Dunne down in Florida that went briefly to FM from Colombia. F2 skip faded away somewhat as the solar flux dropped down to the 130s. So, all in all, December has been mostly uneventful. But keep looking because anything can still happen. We’ve prepared a “State of the Club” message for this issue.

Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2021-80 PDF version Reference: Part 1 application posted on 9 October 2020 Ottawa, 22 February 2021 Aboriginal Multi-Media Society of Alberta Edmonton and Janvier, Alberta Public record for this application: 2020-0648-6 CFWE-FM-4 Edmonton – New transmitter in Janvier 1. The Commission has the authority, pursuant to section 9(1) of the Broadcasting Act (the Act), to issue licences subject to such conditions related to the circumstances of the licensee as the Commission deems appropriate for the implementation of the broadcasting policy set out in section 3(1) of the Act and to amend those conditions on application of the licensee. 2. Pursuant to this authority, the Commission approves the application by Aboriginal Multi-Media Society of Alberta (AMMSA) to amend the broadcasting licence for the Indigenous (Type B Native)1 radio programming undertaking CFWE-FM-4 Edmonton, Alberta, to add a low-power FM rebroadcasting transmitter in Janvier, Alberta, to serve the Chipewyan Prairie First Nation. The Commission did not receive any interventions in regard to this application. 3. The new transmitter will operate at 89.9 MHz (channel 210LP) with an effective radiated power of 50 watts (non-directional antenna with an effective height of the antenna above average terrain of 44.9 metres). 4. AMMSA noted that the Chipewyan Prairie First Nation has no over-the-air access to a radio service targeted to Indigenous communities because of its remote location approximately 94 km southeast of Fort McMurray. The licensee has previously broadcast to this community, and it submitted that it has received many requests to restore the service.
