Friday 28 May 2021 MORNING Time of Issue: 0800 Hours IST ALL INDIA WEATHER SUMMARY and FORECAST BULLETIN Friday 28 May 2021 MORNING Time of Issue: 0800 hours IST ALL INDIA WEATHER SUMMARY AND FORECAST BULLETIN Significant Weather Features ♦ Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Maldives-Comorin area, Southwest & Eastcentral Bay of Bengal, most parts of Southeast Bay of Bengal and some parts of Westcentral Bay of Bengal yesterday, the 27th May, 2021. ♦ The northern limit of Southwest Monsoon continues to pass through 5°N/72°E, 6°N/75°E, 8°N/80°E, 12°N/85°E, 14°N/90°E and 17°N/94°E. ♦ Conditions are likely to become favourable for onset of Southwest Monsoon over Kerala around 31st May 2021. ♦The Depression (Remnant of Very Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘YAAS’) over south Bihar and adjoining Jharkhand moved north- northwestwards, weakened into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area and lay centred at 0530 hrs IST of today, the 28th May, 2021 over Bihar and adjoining East Uttar Pradesh. The system is very likely to move northwestwards and weaken further into a Low pressure area during next 12 hours. Under its influence: (i) Rainfall Warning: isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over East Uttar Pradesh & Bihar and isolated heavy rainfall over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkimon during next 24 hours. Main Weather Observations ♦ Rain/Thundershowers observed (from 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours IST today):at most places over Bihar and Sub-Himalayan west Bengal & Sikkim; at many places over East Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Gangetic West Bengal; at a few places over Kerala & Mahe, Odisha and Jharkhand and at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Chhattisgarh, Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Telangana, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, North Interior Karnataka and East Rajasthan. ♦ Rainfall recorded (from 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours IST today)(1 cm or more): Malda-14; Haldia-9; Kolkata (Alipore)-7; Kolkata (Dum-Dum) and Diamond Harbour-6 each; Gaya and Daltonganj-4 each; Varanasi, Bhagalpur, Darjeeling, Ranchi and Berhampur-3 each; Purnea, Gangtok and Bagati-2 each; Gorakhpur, Sultanpur, Patna, Digha, Port Blair, Sundargarh, Paradip, Chittorgarh, Ghazipur, Churk, Ambikapur, Jamshedpur Belurghat-1 each. ♦ Heavy Rainfall recorded (from 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours IST today): Heavy to very Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Sub- Himalayan west Bengal & Sikkim and Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal. ♦ Thunderstorm observed (from 1730 hours IST of yesterday to 0530 hrs IST today): at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Bihar, Marathwada, Telangana and West Madhya Pradesh. ♦ Maximum Temperature Departures as on 27-05-2021: Maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad and at isolated places over Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Punjab; at many places over Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya; at a few places over Konkan & Goa. They were markedly below normal (-5.1°C or less) at most places over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand; at many places over Sub- Himalayan west Bengal & Sikkim and Odisha; at a few places over Gangetic West Bengal and East madhya Pradesh; below normal (- 1.6°C to -3.0°C) at most places over Rayalseema and North Interior Karnataka; at many places over West madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada; at a few places over West Uttar Pradesh and South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over East Rajasthan, Gujarat Region, Telangana, Kerala & Mahe and Coastal Karnataka and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 45.5°C was reported at Bikaner (West Rajasthan) over the country. ♦ Minimum Temperature Departures as on 27-05-2021: Minimum temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over West Rajasthan and Saurashtra & Kutch; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Assam & Meghalaya; at many places over Konkan & Goa; at a few places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra,Marathawada, West Madhya Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Weather Forecast for next 5 days * upto 0830 hours IST of 02nd June, 2021 ♦ Meteorological sub-division wise detailed 5 days precipitation forecast is given in Table-1. ♦ No significant change in maximum temperature over most parts of Uttar Pradesh and East India during next 24 hours and rise by 2-4°C thereafter. ♦ No significant change in maximum temperature over rest parts of the country.
