JESÚS ROQUE CONTRERAS La Paz- Bolivia 2014 II RESUMEN En el presente trabajo se estudia la toponimia aymara dentro el campo léxico – semántico, el cual muestra el origen y significado de los nombres en el espacio socio geográfico de las siete comunidades de Compi-Tauca que se encuentran en la provincia Omasuyos del departamento de La Paz, región donde se constata el paso de varias culturas y la influencia de los idiomas aymara y castellano, que datan desde la pre-colonia. La investigación otorga la descripción de los topónimos de la región. En esta perspectiva, este estudio toma en cuenta dos fuentes, la geografía descriptiva y las manifestaciones humanas. El estudio toponímico, se ha convertido en un recurso invariable para las otras ciencias como la historia, antropología, la geografía y otras ciencias relacionadas con el acontecer social y la naturaleza del que hacer del hombre en su región. El estudio léxico - semántico toponímico pretende estudiar el significado y el origen de los nombres del lugar a través de la ciencia lingüística y otras disciplinas, cuyas denominaciones originarias van desapareciendo o cambiando de significado. Las nuevas generaciones desconocen las causas o motivaciones por los cuales los lugares de referencia tienen un nombre. -

Luis Felipe Zegarra* Abstract This paper analyzes the evolution and main features of the railway system of Peru in the 19th and early 20th centuries. From mid-19th century railroads were considered a promise for achieving progress. Several railroads were then built in Peru, especially in 1850-75 and in 1910-30. With the construction of railroads, Peruvians saved time in travelling and carrying freight. The faster service of railroads did not necessarily come at the cost of higher passenger fares and freight rates. Fares and rates were lower for railroads than for mules, especially for long distances. However, for some routes (especially for short distances with many curves), the traditional system of llamas remained as the lowest pecuniary cost (but also slowest) mode of transportation. Leonardo Paz Deble A tribo Gnaphalieae é composta de 180-190 gêneros e cerca de 1.240 espécies, com distribuição quase cosmopolita, com maior diversidade na África do Sul, Ásia, Austrália e América do Sul (BAYER et al., 2007; DILLON; SAGASTEGUI, 1991; WARD et al., 2009). Para a América do Sul, Dillon e Sagastegui (1991) reconheceram 2 centros de diversidade: a Cordilheira dos Andes e o Sudeste do Brasil e regiões adjacentes. Tradicionalmente, Gnaphalieae foi subordinada à tribo Inuleae, sen- do reconhecida como um dos grupos de mais difícil identificação dentro da família, dadas a homogeneidade dos caracteres vegetativos e a escassa variação dos caracteres florais (CABRERA, 1961). Estudos recentes demons- traram que as Gnaphalieae encerram grupo monofilético posicionado na base da subfamília Asteroideae (ANDERBERG, 2009; ANDERBERG et al., 2005; FUNK et al., 2005). -

ABSTRACT A community of vascular plants living in a salt marsh in the Atacama Desert (northern Chile) was studied. Environmental parameters such as high solar radiation, drought, wind and high salt concentration are the most important limiting factors. Above-ground vegetative organs of twelve species living in this environment were morphologically and mi- croscopically analyzed in terms of adaptive features that allow them to survive under these conditions. These species showed an interesting display of traits such as extremely reduced leaf area, striated cuticles, sunken stomata, compact leaf tissues, salt crystals, salt glands and vertically oriented photosynthetic parenchyma. These characteristics were statistically tested in order to establish the clustering degree among them; two leaf patterns were found within the sample. The particular leaf anatomy exhibited is discussed, considering it as being adaptive to the stressful environmental conditions of the area. Key words: Atacama Desert, salt marsh, leaf anatomy. Pseudognaphalium Kirp. is one of the many segregated genera from Gnaphalium which have been proposed to obtain subgroups that are better defi ned and presumably monophyletic. Although most Mexican species of Gnaphalium s.l. have been transferred to Pseudognaphalium, the combinations so far proposed do not include a few Mexican taxa that truly belong in Pseudognaphalium. In this paper, the differences between Gnaphalium s.s. and Pseudognaphalium are briefl y addressed, and the transfer of two Mexican species and three varieties from Gnaphalium to Pseudognaphalium are presented. Key Words: generic segregate, Gnaphalium, Mexican composites, taxonomy. Resumen: En sentido amplio, Gnaphalium L. es un género heterogéneo y polifi lético. Pseudognaphalium Kirp. es uno de varios géneros segregados, a partir de Gnaphalium, que se han propuesto para obtener subgrupos mejor defi nidos y presumiblemente monofi léticos. La mayoría de las especies mexicanas de Gnaphalium s.l. han sido transferidas al género Pseudognaphalium; sin embargo, las combinaciones propuestas hasta el momento no cubren algunos taxones mexicanos que pertenecen a Pseudogna- phalium. En este trabajo se explican brevemente las diferencias entre Gnaphalium s.s. y Pseudognaphalium, y se presentan las transferencias de dos especies y tres variedades mexicanas de Gnaphalium a Pseudognaphalium.
