Community Training

Regional Skills & Training Centre run a number of community based training courses in partnership with local communities and organisations which are offered to learners who may require additional supports to undertake training as part of their agreed pathway to work. These courses are run as part of our Community Training Centre (CTC), Local Training Initiative (LTI), and Specialist Training Provision (STP). For further information contact your local LES or DSP office or email [email protected] Community Training Centre (CTC) Regional Skills & Training Centre works in partnership with the Magnet Training Centre in Dundalk to provide training and related services to early school leavers. The programme is for those aged 16-21 without a leaving cert/junior cert qualification that are having difficulty accessing employment and would like to gain a qualification. Local Training Initiatives (LTI) Regional Skills & Training Centre in collaboration with local community organisations provide flexible Local Training Initiatives (LTIs) for unemployed people primarily aged between 18-35 years. The programme is designed to provide opportunities for learners who are unable to participate in other training for personal, social and geographic reasons. The LTI programme offers training in a number vocational areas such as Sport & Recreation, Furniture Restoration, Childcare, Healthcare, IT, Food Production, Film and Media etc. Projects are located throughout the Louth and Meath areas.
