This book provides a listing of all responders to a 1.ational survey of all existing development programs. No attempt was made to determine the quality of existing progams. If a card was returned incha.cing the existence of development activity in a location, that instiution was chosen for inclu- sion in this directory Networking among Catholic institutions is a technique whose potential is only partially realized. It is the opportunity for practioners to talk with peers about the implementation of the phases of development, as well as the joys and heartaches which can accompany such work. This book pro- vides information on a regional basis about the location of development programs. This will be useful to the degree that practioners use it to come Into closer communication with each other. Dr. Ellis Joseph, Dean of the School of Education, and Dr. Donald Fre- ricks, Head of the Department of Educational Administration, both of the University of Dayton were the instigators of this directory. As indicated elsewhere, they also made certain that NCEA had the resources to conduct the survey gathering the data. I am most grateful for their continuing Interest in a process to bring development to Amer'can Catholic institu- tions. The Development OfficciNCEA remains ready to be helpful in promoting regional communications. reports of such activities resulting from this publication are always appreciated at thc natKmal office.
