Baroque Cities Local Cuisine An Invitation to Sicilian Baroque Culture Classical Music Rotary International District 2110 Sicilia e Malta Rotary Club Ragusa XIV ROTARIAN IBLA BAROQUE WEEK Ragusa May 26th - June 2nd 2018 Dear friend, We would like to invite you to attend the 14th Rotarian Ibla Baroque Week held in Ragusa (South-eastern Sicily, Italy) between May 26th – June 2nd 2018. The event will be hosted by the local Rotary Club We welcome Rotary club members worldwide for a unique occasion to visit the pearls of Baroque Sicily. The Ibla Baroque Week is the perfect way to immerge yourself in beautiful baroque cities, breathtaking Sicilian landscapes and delicious local culinary specialties, not forgetting classic culture. It includes guided visits to the most wonderful locations in the South-eastern part of Sicily, many of which are recognized as UNESCO world heritage sites. In addition, our intention is to introduce the attendees to the local culinary traditions including the Modica Chocolate and renowned local restaurants. The Baroque week also includes performances of classical music and traditional Sicilian music. For example a classical organ music concert at the majestic San Giovanni Cathedral in Ragusa. The program begins upon your arrival at Catania Airport or Comiso Airport on Saturday the 26th of May, and ends with your departure from Catania or Comiso, on Saturday the 2nd of June. The program includes a stay in Ragusa in a double room, at the Mediterraneo Palace Hotel with full board from May 26th, dinner, to June 2nd, breakfast, and participation in tours according to the program. Programs, itinerary and booking form on www.rotaryragusa.it This initative is not for profit and all proceeds will be donated to the Rotary Foundation. Instead, losses will be charged to the host club. Bookings Participation is limited to 60 persons. La ricerca vuole offrire spunti di riflessione su un’ area della Sicilia dalla storia antica: la Contea di Modica. Una storia, quella della Contea, che affonda le proprie radici indietro nel tempo, scandita da diverse dominazioni che hanno lasciato i “segni” impressi sul territorio, interessato da nefasti eventi naturali che hanno determinato via via l’assetto urbanistico, politico, economico e sociale. Per meglio comprendere le caratteristiche dei centri, che un tempo fecero parte della gloriosa Contea, si è cercato di cogliere gli aspetti percettivi anche attraverso la cartografia storica, che contribuisce a dare il “senso dei luoghi” e la loro “immagine”. Obiettivo del lavoro è quello di evidenziare le forti potenzialità turistiche di questo territorio, non soltanto per la presenza di un patrimonio artistico di valore inestimabile, eredità delle variegate ed alterne vicende umane espresse nelle diverse forme di cultura materiale ed immateriale, ma anche per i grandi giacimenti naturali. Sono stati, inoltre, indagati i punti di forza di Ragusa, Modica e Scicli, città che appartennero all’antica Contea. Questi tre centri fanno parte con Caltagirone, Catania, Militello in Val di Catania e Noto di un ampio progetto denominato il “Piano di Gestione del Val di Noto” che ha come obiettivo l’analisi di tutte le risorse comprese in questa vasta area avente come unico comune denominatore il Barocco, già riconosciuto dall’Unesco patrimonio dell’umanità, e coglierne nel contempo le differenze.

However, certain sections in the earlier edition dealing with each of the countries in the theater and minor bases have been omitted.

In the last decades, many investments in local airports have been promoted as a way to increase accessibility in many Italian regions. On the other side, transport services have also witnessed important changes as the entrance of low cost carriers, the development of high speed services or the increasing role of long distance passenger coach transport. These services together with an improved intermodality could provide an alternative to access areas of the country. The paper, adopting a policymaker perspective, studies the different passenger transport alternatives for a sample of zones in the catchment area of a local airport. It is based on a long distance multimodal transport model describing the entire Italian long distance supply thus it allows to estimate the generalized cost to access all the zones of the country by road, rail, coach and air services. The analysis of the generalized costs for the period 2013/2014 helps to better understand the role of air transport with respect to the other available modes for each zone. It could also represent the first step to reconsider the possible strategies to improve national accessibility levels.

Il dottor Giovanni Di Stefano, direttore del Museo Regionale di Kamarina, ha aperto la serie di conferenze, trattando sulle recenti scoperte archeologiche effettuate nel sito di Kaukana, ed in particola- re sul “quartiere Vandalo” e sulle tombe che coronano l’abside della chiesetta Bizantina. Il dottor Saverio Scerra, archeologo presso la Soprintendenza ai Beni Culturali ed Ambientali di Ragusa, ha effettuato una conferenza sugli approdi nella costa meridionale della Sicilia, nel tratto com- preso tra Gela e Pachino, soffermandosi dettagliatamente sulle ipotesi relative all’approdo di Kaukana - Punta Secca. I relatori Di Stefano e Scerra, hanno trasmesso alla redazione dell’Archivio Storico, gli articoli inerenti i temi trattati nelle conferenze, che vengono pubblicati nel presente volume.

PROVINCIA DI RAGUSA COMUNE DI S.CROCE CAMERINA PIANO DI PROTEZIONE CIVILE RELAZIONE GENERALE Aggiornamento: luiglio 2016 ELABORAZIONE GRAFICA A CURA DI OGGETTO: PIANO DI EMERGENZA COMUNALE DI PROTEZIONE CIVILE In relazione al Protocollo d’Intesa sottoscritto tra il Comune di Santa Croce Camerina e il Servizio Regionale di Protezione Civile per la Provincia di Ragusa, per l’Organizzazione e svolgimento delle Attività di Protezione Civile nel Comune di Santa Croce Camerina , il III Dipartimento Assetto del Territorio ha redatto il Piano di Emergenza Comunale di Protezione Civile, con il coordinamento e supporto tecnico-operativo del Servizio Regionale per la provincia di Ragusa, che ha fornito la piattaforma informatica su cui inputare le tabelle con i dati comunali, unitamente a personale qualificato che ha materialmente redatto le cartografie allegate su base GIS, garantendo altresì la formazione ai responsabili delle funzioni supporto del C.O.C. (Centro Operativo Comunale) ed il necessario coordinamento alla stesura generale. Il presente Piano è stato redatto nel rispetto della normativa di cui alla Legge Regionale 14/98, della direttiva “Metodo Augustus” del Dipartimento Nazionale della Protezione Civile e delle Linee guida per la redazione dei piani comunali di protezione civile emanate dalla Regione Siciliana, utilizzando la struttura di base prevista dall’O.P.C.M. 3606/07. E’ doveroso precisare che per la parte relativa all’inquadramento territoriale si è fatto riferimento a quanto contenuto nella Relazione generale del vigente P.R.G. di Santa Croce Camerina, mentre per l’aspetto geologico/geomorfologico/idrogeologico ci si è avvalso della collaborazione del geologo dott. Alfonso Parisi, infine, ma non ultimo, è doveroso sottolineare anche la collaborazione dei tecnici del Gruppo Comunale Volontari Protezione Civile.
