Black and Yellow with Image Photography Photo Resume MEET OSIAN! Osian is a full time artist and curator living and working full-time in mid Wales. He opened The Short Bridge Street Gallery ‘Art by Osian’ in January 2019. Recent exhibitions include a solo exhibition at the national Assembly for Wales Cardiff. The National Library of Wales recently requested permission to archive his work. Osian’s work has been sold to private collections across the world.     LAMPETER TOWN COUNCIL CYNGOR TREF LLANBEDR PONT STEFFAN MINUTES OF A FULL COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 26th OCTOBER 2006 AT 7.30PM AT THE TOWN HALL, LAMPETER PRESENT: Cllr. Mayor Dorothy Williams (Chairperson) Cllrs: Deputy-Mayor Chris Thomas, Cecilia Barton, Margaret Davies-Evans, Greg Evans, Kistiah Ramaya, Selwyn Walters and Derek Wilson. Guest Speaker: Mr Ron Whithead, Falcondale Lake Action Group (FLAG), who remained for the entire meeting. Before the commencement of the full meeting, members were addressed by Mr Ron Whithead, from the Falcondale Lake Action Group. Mr Whithead referred to his presentation, of the month of March and of his colleague, Anna Palliser. He mentioned that she had now embarked, on a two year university course, in New Zealand, but was sure that her passion for the future of the lake, remained undiminished. He spoke of the denotification of the lake as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), at a recent meeting of the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW), in Abergavenny. The CCW’s action had evoked deep concern among environmental groups, as the denotification of a site of such local botanical and natural history significance, was unprecedented. FLAG are contesting this decision and are presently embroiled in a High Street Court battle. They have almost raised the required £1,500 and legal-aid has been granted. Mr Whithead spoke of the biodiversity and unique landscape of this local beauty spot, known to many as “a poor man’s beach,” and of its rich heritage, which should be protected. The man-made lake (built shortly before 1886), was the first source from where drinking water was piped into the town.

We raised £955! Particular credit goes to Peter Gardner, who once again nurtured choice sweet-pea seedlings of named varieties and sold them, individually potted, at a table in the middle of the hall. I only secured one, a dark blue, but it’s now six feet tall and flowering profusely in a pot by my front door. We catch the scent as we go in and out. Joy Neal provided some extremely choice houseplants, most of which were snapped up in minutes. Divided chunks of good garden perennials and new seedling veg and flowers also sold very well. Jan Eldridge provided us with a really professional banner: attached to the railings at the Penparcau roundabout for two weeks prior to the sale, this increased our visibility to the public, who queued eagerly till the doors opened. Before the doors opened The summer excursions run by John and Sue Wildig have also been well subscribed and offered a varied and fascinating range of experiences.

G.H.Doble seems to have been misled in the same way (The Saints of Cornwall, IV. 156). DAGAN or DANOG, abbot of Llancarfan. He appears as Danoc in one of the ‘Llancarfan Charters’ appended to the Life of St.Cadog (§62 in VSB p.130). Here he is a clerical witness with Sulien (presumably abbot) and king Morgan [ab Athrwys]. He appears as abbot of Llancarfan in five charters in the Book of Llandaf, where he is called Danoc abbas Carbani Uallis (BLD 179c), and Dagan(us) abbas Carbani Uallis (BLD 158, 175, 186b, 195). In these five charters he is contemporary with bishop Berthwyn and Ithel ap Morgan, king of Glywysing. He succeeded Sulien as abbot and was succeeded by Paul. See Trans.Cym., 1948 pp.291-2, (but ignore the dates), and compare Wendy Davies, LlCh p.55 where Danog and Dagan are distinguished. Wendy Davies dates the BLD charters c.A.D.722 to 740 (ibid., pp.102 - 114). DALLDAF ail CUNIN COF. (Legendary). He is included in the tale of ‘Culhwch and Olwen’ as one of the warriors of Arthur's Court: Dalldaf eil Kimin Cof (WM 460, RM 106). In a triad (TYP no.73) he is called Dalldaf eil Cunyn Cof, one of the ‘Three Peers’ of Arthur's Court. In another triad (TYP no.41) we are told that Fferlas (Grey Fetlock), the horse of Dalldaf eil Cunin Cof, was one of the ‘Three Lovers' Horses’ (or perhaps ‘Beloved Horses’).
