Gilbert's Discovery Village is a childrens museum where exploration, experimentation and learning, all work hand in hand. Children and adults alike enjoy these interactive exhibits contained within four historical homes in Salems Riverfront Park. Bethel Heights Vineyard : Bethel Heights Vineyard welcomes visitors to it's tasting room and picnic area. Bush House Museum : This finely crafted Victorian home is completely restored and furnished with it's original decor. Bushs Pasture Park : At Bushs Pasture Park one can admire the Bush House Museum, browse through the Bush Barn Art Center, the galleries, or take a stroll through the Bush Conservatory Greenhouse and Rose Gardens. Criston Vineyards Salem : Cristom Vineyards features a Wine Tasting Room, occasional Winemaker's Dinners and a wide collection of wine for purchase. Detroit Lake State Recreation Area : The park is the gateway to Detroit Lake where water sports are the primary activity. A campground is on-site. Historic Deepwood Estate : The Historic Deepwood Estate is often referred to as one of Oregon's finest examples of an 'ornate, multi-gabled Queen Anne style home. Holman State Wayside : The wayside overlooks the Willamette River and offers picnicking and a bike trail. Honeywood Winery Salem : Founded in 1933, Honeywood Winery welcomes visitors to it's open houses. Kathken Vineyards : Kathken Vineyards features the Bella Vista Tasting Room, as well as a majestic two acre park with numerous picnic tables, BBQ, pond, bon fire pits and 400 sq ft stage used during the summer music program. This beautiful park is the perfect place to enjoy great wine and food. Maples Rest Area : The rest area is the only one between Sisters and Salem, Oregon and offers large grass lawns and a pet exercise area. Marion County Historical Society Museum : Marion County Historical Society Museum offers visitors a wide collection of exhibits depicting life in Marion County, including Kalapuya Indian daily life, boarding houses, 19th century healthcare, the typewriter, former president Herbert Hoover and much more. Maud Williamson State Recreation Site : The park houses a historic farm house and offers a picnic shelter, volleyball and horseshoe areas . Mongold (Detroit lake) : This area features a public boat launch, a swimming area, grass beach and picnic facilities.
