Six developmental districts in Appalachia were chosen for intensive study.A team of consultants was organized to perform the research. Statistics were collected by the questionnaire method. Data gathered indicate that: (1) Cable systems that have been 0-500 subscribers have an average market saturation of 60%; (2) Systems with between 501 and 1,500 subscribers have an average 63% market saturation; (3) Cable systems with 1,501 to 3,500 and above have an average market penetration of 62%. This survey also showed that the CATV operators would be interested in participating in a regional cable television network. Upon completion of the research, an engineering report will be issued. AS-AP MXF Archive and Preservation DRAFT FADGI Application Specification AS-AP MXF Archive and Preservation August 15, 2011 (rev 1h) Document Status This document-in-progress is being drafted by the Audio-Visual Working Group of the Federal Agencies Digitization Guidelines Initiative (FADGI; http://www.digitizationguidelines.gov/audio-visual/). The Working Group will transmit a refined version of this MXF Application Specification for Archive and Preservation (AS-AP) for finalization and publication by the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA). Finalization will also depend upon the resolution of some technical matters that are dependencies for this specification. These dependencies are highlighted in the explanatory notes within this specification and in the accompanying document Preservation Video File Format Issues and Considerations (http://www.digitizationguidelines.gov/audio-visual/documents/FADGI_MXF_ASAP_Issues_20110815.pdf). This document has been drafted in the style of other AMWA application specifications (http://www.amwa.tv/projects/application_specifications.shtml), has borrowed a number of features from AS- 03, and refers to AS-02. Since AS-02 has not been published at this writing, this document (especially Annex B) includes wording copied from draft versions of that specification. Executive Summary This document describes a vendor-neutral subset of the MXF file format to use for long-term archiving and preservation of moving image content and associated materials including audio, captions and metadata. Archive and Preservation and files (AS-AP files) may contain a single item, or an entire series of items. Various configurations of sets of AS-AP files are discussed in the Overview. AS-AP files are intended to be used in combination with external finding aids or catalog records. -

Type D-11 HDCAM compressed picture data stream mapping is defined for source coded picture rates of 24/1.001/P, 24/P, 25/P, 50-I, 30/1.001/P, and 60/1.001. For the transmission of compressed picture data coded at source picture rates of 25/P and 50/I, the SDTI interface operates at a frame rate of 25 Hz. For the transmission of compressed picture data coded at source picture rates of 30/1.001P and 60/1.001I, the SDTI interface operates at a frame rate of 30/1.001 Hz. The transmission of compressed picture data coded at the source picture rates of 24/1.001/P and 24/P require the SDTI interface to operate at frame rates of 24/1.001 Hz and 24 Hz with the parameters defined in normative annex A and annex B of this standard. -

Understanding HD & 3G-SDI Video EYE DIGITAL SIGNAL TIMING EYE DIAGRAM The eye diagram is constructed by overlaying portions of the sampled data stream until enough data amplitude is important because of its relation to noise, and because the Y', R'-Y', B'-Y', COMMONLY USED FOR ANALOG COMPONENT ANALOG VIDEO transitions produce the familiar display. A unit interval (UI) is defined as the time between two adjacent signal receiver estimates the required high-frequency compensation (equalization) based on the Format 1125/60/2:1 750/60/1:1 525/59.94/2:1, 625/50/2:1, 1250/50/2:1 transitions, which is the reciprocal of clock frequency.
