Adjournment 3-1 Accommodation Review Delegations to Special Board Feedback from the community is an important part of the accommodation review process. Trustees welcome delegations to hear feedback on the various accommodation options. Definition of a delegation for the purpose of Accommodation Review Committees Delegations consist of individuals, or representatives of groups or organizations, who request an opportunity to draw the attention of the Board of Trustees to a particular matter or issue as it relates to an accommodation review. Pre-meeting procedures Trustees welcome all delegations. All delegations must register by noon on the day of the meeting through the Officer of Trustee Services, Heather Miller and directed by e-mail to Tracy McKillop: [email protected] or call 905-527-5092, extension 2261. Delegation requests will be referred to the Chair of the Board to be scheduled on the appropriate meeting date. Delegations are not required to provide written submissions. For those who choose to make a presentation, a laptop will be available, please bring your presentation on a memory stick. Anyone wishing to provide printed material to Trustees may do so by submitting it to the Officer of Trustee Services, Heather Miller and directed by email to Tracy McKillop: [email protected] no later than three (3) business days prior to the ARC Delegation night meeting. Delegations unable to attend are encouraged to make a written submission three (3) business days prior to the meeting. Note: Any written material will appear as part of the trustees’ support material for the meeting where the presentation is made and will be posted to the board website as part of the agenda package. Process for delegations at the committee hearing Delegations are expected to speak to the staff recommendation for the review area being addressed that evening. Delegations may select a choice of five (5) or 10 minute presentation time. A question period of up to five (5) minutes will follow the presentation, where trustees will limit their comments to questions for clarification from delegations. Once the presentation has been heard, trustees may select one of the following options: a) Receive the delegation, or b) Refer specific items to staff for follow-up 4-1 EXECUTIVE REPORT TO GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE TO: GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE FROM: Manny Figueiredo, Director of Education DATE: April 5, 2016 PREPARED BY: Wayne Joudrie, Joudrie Consulting Inc. RE: HWDSB Strategic Directions- Phase 3- Launch Action Monitoring X Background: On December 15th,, 2015, HWDSB approved a draft Strategic Directions Plan for public consultation. On March 21st 2016, the Strategic Directions Plan was presented to the Board of Trustees and approved. These Strategic Directions will serve a directional role for the board for a minimum of 4 years. This completes the first two phases of the Reimagine Campaign: Step 1- Explore Step 2- Imagine The following is an outline of the key components of the third and final stage of the Reimagine Campaign: Step 3 - Launch Date Action Responsibility March • Development of a draft Annual Plan (AP) • Executive Council facilitated by W.
