Mercy on Campus is the area’s first community college health clinic and fits with Jefferson College’s emphasis on health occupations training programs and wellness. The clinic is open to community members, students, and college employees/ dependents for sick visits, personal wellness, chronic disease management, vaccinations, stress management, and other health programs. Regular copay amounts are applicable. “As an institution of higher learning, we have an obligation to promote a culture of wellness on campus and in our community,” said College President Dr. Raymond Cummiskey. “Patients can have the peace of mind knowing that high-quality care is readily available for managing a chronic condition as well as addressing sudden illnesses or perhaps unexpected injuries. We look forward to a long and productive partnership with Mercy as we cooperatively care for our campus and community.” Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City sees the new clinic as an expansion of the relationship the college and hospital have created through the past six decades. “Jefferson College has been a tremendous partner with the hospital through the years, providing scores of highly-skilled caregivers and ancillary staff as well. Many of our co-workers are Jefferson College alumni,” said Mercy Jefferson President Eric Ammons.
