EISTEDDFOD 2013 WITH SIAN WILLIAMS

Saturday, August 10, 7.30pm, BBC Four (repeated Monday, August 12, 7.30pm, BBC Two Wales)

BBC news journalist and current affairs presenter Sian Williams is extremely proud of her Welsh roots but has never before visited the National Eisteddfod of Wales, so this week has been a completely new and unique experience for her. Sian presents highlights from the week-long festival, held this year in Denbighshire and District, in Eisteddfod 2013 with Sian Williams.

The National Eisteddfod is described as Wales’ largest cultural festival and celebrates all things Welsh - from music, literature and drama to dance, the visual arts and science and technology. Attracting around 150,000 visitors every year, all official events are held in Welsh and although the focus is on the Pavilion, a large pink tent where most of the competitions and ceremonies are held, the Eisteddfod spirit takes over the whole area.

POBOL Y CWM Llun - Gwener, Awst 12 - 16, BBC Cymru ar S4C, 8pm Monday - Friday, August 12 - 16, BBC Wales on S4C, 8pm bbc.co.uk/pobolycwm

Mae Gaynor a Hywel wrth eu boddau pan ddaw Rhys a Lois yn ôl o deithio yn Ewrop. Sylwa Gaynor ar newid positif yn agwedd Lois, ond mae hi hefyd yn sylwi ar newid ym mherthynas ei merch â Rhys. Beth sydd wrth wraidd y sefyllfa?

Ar ôl i dwyll diweddaraf Eifion ddod i’r amlwg, mae Cadno’n cyrraedd pen ei thennyn ac yn troi at Gwyneth am gysur. Mae’n amser iddi wneud penderfyniadau mawr ond i le gall hi droi a phwy all ei helpu?

Caiff Dani sioc enfawr wrth dderbyn llythyr annisgwyl o Wlad Thai a dydi Gethin ddim yn hapus wrth ganfod awdur yr ohebiaeth. Mae Gethin hefyd yn anhapus gydag awgrym Iolo ei fod angen siarad gyda rhywun proffesiynol am ei broblemau. Oes gobaith y gall symud ymlaen â’i fywyd a maddau’r rhai sydd wedi peri gymaint o boen iddo?

Ac ar ddiwrnod canlyniadau arholiadau lefel A, mae gorfoledd i rai a siom i eraill.

Gaynor and Hywel are overjoyed to see Rhys and Lois arrive home from their travels. Gaynor sees a more positive attitude in Lois, but she also notices a difference in her daughter’s relationship with Rhys. What’s behind the change?

Cadno’s heart breaks as she learns of Eifion’s latest deceit and turns to Gwyneth for comfort. It’s time for her to make life-changing decisions but where can she turn and who can help her?

Dani’s in shock when she receives an unexpected letter from Thailand and Gethin isn’t happy when he learns who sent it. Gethin’s also unhappy with Iolo’s suggestion that he gets professional help with his problems. Can he move on and forgive those who’ve caused him so much pain?

And it’s A-level results day and not everyone is happy.
