Innovations, innovative ideas are the fruit of a creative work of researchers. Scientifi c research is a particularly important element in industrial development, the revolution of transport, construction, agriculture and all fi elds of activity within a society. An incursion into the evolution of scientifi c research will highlight the great values that Romania has had, which have manifested in the interest of the country but some of them with remarkable results at international level. In the fi eld of aviation, we have three Croies, Traian Vuia, Aurel Vlaicu and Henri Coanda, who are pioneers of the fi eld. Paulescu, despite controversy, is the insulin discoverer. But not only these, but a lot of other scholars have said their word. Turning to the economic research, we must note that Romania had pioneers Dan Virgil Voiculescu, Gheorghe Păun, Gheorghe Zane, Alexandru D. Xenopol, Gheorghe Iorgu Tăşcă, Barbu Zaharescu, Victor Axenciuc, Petre Aurelian Victor Padurescu, Constantin Barbulescu, Vintilă IC Brătianu, Emilian Dobrescu, Ioan Ghica, Aurelian Iancu, Virgil Traian Madgearu, Victor Slăvescu, Nicolas Georgescu Roegen, Eugen Miron Nicolescu, Octav Onicescu, Gheorghe Mihoc, Ştefan Odobleja, Ion Ionescu from Brad, Gheorghe Ionescu Şiseşti, Nicolae Constantinescu, Gheorghe Dolgu, Dimitrie Gusti and many others. Thus, in the fi eld of economic scientifi c research, an impressive number of scholars and valuable scholars have been on the ramp. The authors then focus on the study of the role of the Romanian Academy, established since 1879, which is the headquarters of the research. There are a number of remarkable results of the Romanian Academy of Sciences and Culture, the Romanian Academy. Revista Română de Statistică Supliment nr. 4 / 2018 73 One can not neglect in this indepth study the role and importance of academic and academic research. The training of specialists for the economy can not be done without the involvement of new research specialists. Switching from study, learning to research is a normal and binding process. Within the article, a number of elements are signifi cant and are presented by the authors in the context in which this year we celebrate the centennial of the Romanian unitary state, and it is good to remember that it has also achieved outstanding results in this fi eld. Some glances regarding the international context reveal the role that Romanian researchers have had and have at the international level. There are some assessments about the future, in the sense that there are concrete programs through which Romania will contribute to the development of research in the following periods as well. Key words: economic research, innovation, economic development, strategy, knowledge JEL Classifi cation: I25, O30 Introduction In this article, based on the study conducted, the authors focus on presenting the secular result of Romanian scientifi c research in various fi elds of activity, focusing on research in the economic fi eld. Successively presented data on the role of research as a fundamental element of the development in the economy. Then there are presented and praised personalities in the fi eld of economic research, which have internally clarifi ed aspects of great importance regarding economy, economic development, strategies and other issues that are important. The authors sought to highlight the role of the Romanian Academy as the headquarters of the research. It presents the activity of the Romanian Academy underlining the way in which the role of the great personalities, members or corresponding members of the Romanian Academy has evolved, but especially the research activity carried out within the departments’ research departments of the Romanian Academy . The authors also focus on the role and the vocation of research, which must be an attribute of graduates of higher education, regardless of their fi eld. Some aspects are briefl y presented regarding the current situation in which the membership of the European Union of Romania necessitates the intensifi cation of the scientifi c research as an indestructible and necessary element in relation to Romania’s participation in European, European and European economic cooperation and why not in broader sense. 74 Romanian Statistical Review Supplement nr. 4 / 2018 Reference is also made to the fact that economic research is an attribute of knowledge and implementation of adequate strategies for the leadership of the national economy. The fi nal part of the article presents aspects regarding the concrete scientifi c research in the fi eld of economics and then the results of the international presence of the Romanian researchers in the fi eld of economics, as well as the way in which the Romanian economic research should be analyzed and considered at the horizon of 2020 and continuation. Literature review Anghelache (1998-2017) carried out a complex analysis of the results of the Romanian economy, as well as the perspectives of evolution in the economic and social sphere. Brateş (2014) conducted a study on the work of the great economist N.N. Constantinescu. Haiduc (2006) and Ghiţulescu (2012) analyzed the stage and place of the Romanian research and development system at European level. Iancu (2005) studied the level of development of Romania, under the conditions of competitiveness on the European market. Piketty (2015) conducted a research on the role and modalities of capital manifestation. Vacarel (2016) is a reference paper presenting Romania’s economic, social and cultural evolution. Zaman and Georgescu (2014) analyzed the degree of absorption of structural and cohesion funds in Romania. Research methodology, data, results and discussions An internationally validated, highperformance, highperformance science raises the attractiveness, pervades the prestige at regional and international level, generates a distinct, unique profi le of that state. Investments in this area have massive positive effects in the medium and long term. Metaphorically speaking, the greatest performance of science is that it survived. In the fi rst 75 years, uniforms, orders and censorship of any kind, and then, in the last 25 years, profound changes of the system of values at the base of the Romanian society and a new census of economic nature, caused by the fi nancial situation of many or diffi cult research faced, which prevents it from manifesting its true value. • Personalities in the fi eld of economic research Ion Ghica (18161897) focused on the study of complex and economic problems, among which we mention the following: Aid for the trader, the farmer and the engineer; Dernière occupation des Principautés danubiennes; Economic talks, 1865 1876. Aurelian (18331909) published the Schiă studies on Romania, mainly from the point of view of the rural, industrial and commercial economy, with a map of the Principality of Romania, 1867; Catechism of the political economy, 1869. Alexander D. Xenopol (18471920) was concerned both with national history and with theoretical problems of historical science. Alexandru D. Xenopol’s work, although unitary in meaning, is structured on several distinct sections. The fi rst of these is the great synthesis, which can include the collection of various texts on economic issues printed in 1879, namely Economic Studies. Gheorghe Iorgu Tacă (18751951) with research on: The Currency Problem (1919); Economic Liberalism (1923); Romania’s Financial Condition after the War (1925); Cooperative Issues Romanian Capitalism and Co operation; Devaluation and Infl ation (1932). Dimitrie Gusti (18801955) was a sociologist, philosopher and aesthetician. He founded the monographic research method; has begun the normalization of sociological research, combined with practical social action and social pedagogy; has conceived the idea of the „sociological museum”. Founder of the sociological (monograph) school in Bucharest, he conceived sociology as a „science of the nation.” He is the founder of the Romanian Society of Statistics (1937), which continues its activity today. Victor Bădulescu (18921953) published studies on Les Finances publiques en Roumanie (1922); The fi nancial situation of the railways (1924); International Monetary Issues (1944); Commercial policy treaty. Foreign Trade and International Trade (1945). Gheorghe Zane (18971978) is noted in the following studies in the fi eld of economic research: Introduction to the study of the value issue (1925); A century of struggle to conquer the Romanian market (1926); Monetary Issues in the Past of Our National Economy (1927); Exchange economy in the Romanian Principalities (1930); Economic Policy of the Principalities in the Union and Foreign Capital (1959); The Revolutionary Movement of 1840, Prelude to the Revolution of 1848 (1964); The Monetary Issue in Romania and the Reform of 1867 (1968).

For me, of an entirely different trade, seems an impiety to express authorised opinions concerning the work of this giant of the Romanian literature and culture. Eminescu’s work was the subject of numerous studies, commentaries, analyses and interpretations signed by various personalities with resonance in the history of Romanian culture such as: Titu Maiorescu, Garabet Ibrăileanu, Nicolae Iorga, Eugen Lovinescu, Perpessicius, I. Negoiţescu, Petru Creţia, Acad. Dan Berindei, Acad. Alexandru Surdu, Ilie Bădescu, Svetlana Paleologu-Matta, C. Schifirneţ, etc. It seems that once he was labelled as a “genius poet”, the rest of his work slipped into the shadows, as it happened for instance with his journalistic work, expressing a manner of thinking and understanding the world through particular ideas and visions, entirely original.

In the same time the Romanian Cultural World would have liked to be recognized in Europe bringing its contribution to achieving some cultural centers in the period between wars. It is the period when Romania expressed itself strongly from the political and civilization point of view establishing its stability role in the South-East of Europe. The intellectuals consider that Romania should be recognized from the cultural point of view in order to support the information changes and European harmony. In 1911, an initiative is taken to open a Culture Institute at Bucharest dedicated to the south-east european issues. Those who took the initiative were Nicolae Iorga, Vasile Pârvan and G. Murgoci, in 1914 and their goal was to study this part of Europe taking into account the old traditions and Romanian present interests. The Romanian Researchers have considered an important connection to Italy because of both countries’ latin root. The first attempt of establishing such institution took place in 1914, but because of the war, the idea was abandoned. There were new attempts in 1917and 1918. In 1920, Nicolae Iorga, as a deputy, proposed a law to found Romanian Superior Schools: one of Archeological Studies and the other of History and Filology and Belle Arte at Rome and Paris.

This article offers a new interpretation of the Wallachian revolution of . It places the revolution in its imperial and European contexts and suggests that the course of the revolution cannot be understood without reference to these spheres. The predominantly agrarian principality faced different but commensurate problems to other European states that experienced revolution in . Revolutionary leaders attempted to create a popular political culture in which all citizens, both urban and rural, could participate. This revolutionary community formed the basis of the gov- ernment’s attempts to enter into relations with its Ottoman suzerain and its Russian protector. Far from attempting to subvert the geopolitical order, this article argues that the Wallachians positioned themselves as loyal subjects of the sultan and saw their revolution as a meeting point between the Ottoman Empire and European civilization. The revolution was not a staging post on the road to Romanian unification, but a brief moment when it seemed possible to realize internal regeneration on a European model within an Ottoman imperial framework. But the Europe of was too unstable for the revolutionaries to succeed. The passing of this moment would lead some to lose faith in both the Ottoman Empire and Europe.

    MUZEUL NAŢIONAL AL SATULUI „DIMITRIE GUSTI” RAPORT DE ACTIVITATE 1.01 – 31.12.2018 CAPITOLUL I: Prezentul raport de activitate a fost elaborat pentru evaluarea managementului de către Ministerul Culturii şi Identităţii Naţionale denumit în continuare autoritatea, pentru Muzeul Naţional al Satului „Dimitrie Gusti” denumită în continuare instituţia, aflată în subordinea sa, în conformitate cu prevederile Ordonanţei de urgenţă a Guvernului nr. 189/2008 privind managementul instituţiilor publice de cultură, aprobată cu modificări şi completări prin Legea nr. 269/2009, cu modificările şi completările ulterioare, denumită în continuare ordonanţa de urgenţă, precum şi cu cele ale regulamentului de evaluare. Analiza şi notarea raportului de activitate şi a interviului se fac în baza următoarelor criterii de evaluare: A. evoluţia instituţiei în raport cu mediul în care îşi desfăşoară activitatea şi în raport cu sistemul instituţional existent; B. îmbunătăţirea activităţii instituţiei; C. organizarea/sistemul organizaţional al instituţiei; D. situaţia economico-financiară a instituţiei; E. strategia, programele şi implementarea planului de acţiune pentru îndeplinirea misiunii specifice instituţiei, conform sarcinilor formulate de autoritate; F. evoluţia economico-financiară a instituţiei, pentru următoarea perioadă de management, cu menţionarea resurselor financiare necesare de alocat de către autoritate. În conformitate cu prevederile contractului de management, datele şi informaţiile din prezentul raport sunt aferente perioadei 1.01 – 31.12.2018, reprezentând prima evaluare a Contractului de management. In the nineteenth century, the accelerating globalization started to show demands that the majority of the Romanians could not understand. The delay in the economic development, the political-state establishment, the scarcity of instruction and education, the historical and geographical context marked by hostility, all these formed the gap between the "West" and "East". The renewing economic ideas penetrated hard, often deformed ... The relentless intelligence of some young people educated outside the Romanian land, as Dionisie Pop Marţian (1829- 1865), has started the struggle for "the economic emancipation of the nation" by promoting the ideas, the principles and the institutions on which was build the prosperity of the West. Seen as a "reactionary" or as a "man of progress", Marţian has delivered a heterogeneous economic outlook, a mixture of liberal principles and protectionist principles. The most significant "protection" supported by Marţian was the one against ignorance. The compilation made by Marţian using the works of various authors sustaining the "social economy" shows the dimensions of economic backwardness - the absence of current economic terms from the lexicon. Marţian invents some economic terms, which are understandable, such as: „comerciu”(trade), „manufaptură” (manufacture), „product”, „const”, „fair price”, „banc-rupt” etc. Marţian's mission was clear: "the spreading of economics through speaking and writing.". MSC: 01-01; 01-02 Corduneanu’s life Constantin Corduneanu was born on July 26, 1928, in the city of Iaşi, Province of Moldova, Romania, from the parents Costache and Aglaia Corduneanu. He completed his elementary education in the village of Potangeni, Movileni commune in the District of Iaşi, located at a distance of about 25 Km. from the City of Iaşi, where his parents and some uncles were his teachers. This village was also the place where his paternal grandparents were living. At the age of 12, he had to go to the City of Iaşi to get his secondary education. He did not want to take the advice of his parents or his grandfather. Instead, he chose the idea of one of his uncles, who, during the First World War, was a sergeant in the Romanian Cavalry.
