    5 XI November 2017 International Journal for Research in Applied Science & Engineering Technology (IJRASET) ISSN: 2321-9653; IC Value: 45.98; SJ Impact Factor:6.887 Volume 5 Issue XI November 2017- Available at www.ijraset.com Identification of Water Quality of Four Lakes in the Medchal District, Telangana State Dr.Vajja Varalakshmi1, T.Jayakrishna2, K.Sridevi3, P.Saikiran4 1, 2, 4 Department of civil Engineering, Marri Laxman Reddy Institute of Technology and Management, Dundigal Village& Mandal, Hyderabad-500043 3 Department of Bio Technology, Marri Laxman Reddy Institute of Pharmacy, Dundigal Village& Mandal, Hyderabad-500043 Abstract: Water-quality characteristics were determined for four lakes (Dundigal, Mallampet Nizampet and Bowrampet) in the Quthbullapur Mandau of Mitchel District, Telanagana State to evaluate changes in lake water quality that may occur in summer and after initial rains. Samplings were collected from each lake in May 2017 and July 2017. The measured water quality parameters included pH, color, turbidity, alkalinity, hardness, suspended solids, Dissolved oxygen, COD, BOD ,Chloride content TDS, Total load of bacteria. From this values it is observe that the lake water is not potable, but can be used for general purpose as well as recreational purpose. Higher values were recorded after initial rains due to natural and anthropogenic sources such as run- off containing salts, land fill leachates, septic tank effluents and animal feeds is higher in first flush. It is also observed that the water turbidity, nitrate and phosphorous levels are more in all lakes. It is due to the increase of nutrient level and the water hycanith presence in the lakes.

The major rocks types are in the present study area are volumetrically in decreasing order of granite, granodiorite, quartzmonzonite and diorite. They form massive weathered boulders, pointed hillocks and batholithic domes. All these rock types are described as felsic granitoids displayed two main Phaneritic texture features: (1) Porphyritic (inequigranular) and (2) non-porphyritic (equigranular), and these textural features have a regional variation from south to north from the study area. Non-porphyritic granitoids (grey granite gneiss, granodiorite and diorite) have fine to medium grained equigranular-hypidiomorphic texture, while the porphyritic varieties (pink granite and quartzmonzonite), and show very coarse to coarse- grained inequigranular porphyritic texture. Field relationships of the granitoids indicate that the porphyries are younger than the non-porphyries due to cross-cutting relations between them. The granitoids are characterized by quartz, K-feldspar (microcline) and plagioclase as essential minerals and hornblende and biotite as minor minerals. Augite, Fe-Ti oxides, apatite, zircon and epidote form important accessories. From the Commissioner of Agriculture, Telangana, Hyderabad Lr.No.Crop.Ins.(2)/175/2017,Dated:12-10-2017. -oOo- O R D E R: The following Notification shall be published in the Telangana State Gazette: N O T I F I C A T I O N The Government of Telangana hereby notify the Crops and Areas (District wise) to implement the “Village as Insurance Unit Scheme” with one predominant crop of each District and other crops under Mandal Insurance Unit scheme under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana (PMFBY) during Rabi 2017 -18 season vide Annexure I to VIII and Annexure I and II and Statements 1-30 and Proforma A&B of 30 Districts for Village as Insurance Unit Statements 1 to 30 for Mandal Insurance Unit and Appended to this order. 2. Further, settlement of the claims “As per the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana (PMFBY) Guidelines and administrative approval of Government of India for Kharif 2016 season issued vide letter 13015/03/2016-Credit-II, Dated.23.02.2016 the condition that, the indemnity claims will be settled on the basis of yield data furnished by the State Government based on requisite number of Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs) under General Crop Estimation Survey (GCES) conducted and not any other basis like Annavari / Paisawari Certificate / Declaration of drought / flood, Gazette Notification etc., by any other Department / Authority.
