Wedding Reception Games - Garter Wedding Reception Games - Garter Shoe Race The bride sits at one end of the dance floor and all the men remove their shoes (both) and place them in the centre of the dance floor. The men must then turn around and face away from the shoes so that they can’t see them. The bridesmaids then mix the shoes up and/or hide them around the room. As soon as the DJ starts playing a song the men must find both of their correct shoes, put them back on and the first one to sit on the bride’s lap with his correct shoes on gets to remove the garter. Balloon Stomp The men are each given a balloon attached to a piece of string. They must tie the balloon to one of their ankles. When the DJ starts playing a song it’s all against all as each of them attempt to burst everyone else’s balloon by stomping on them. The winner will be the last one that has a balloon un- popped on their ankle. Groom Removes Should the bride and/or groom not feel comfortable with someone else removing the garter, simply have the groom remove it himself and then toss the garter to all of the single men. Groom Dance The same as above but this time the groom will have to earn the right to remove the garter by performing a dance. The DJ will play a fun song and then it’s up to the groom to show off all his dance moves. When the dancing stops the bride gives a thumbs up or a thumbs down. A thumbs up means the groom can proceed to remove the garter. A thumbs down means the groom has to rethink his dance moves and try again. Once the groom removes the garter he then tosses it to the single men. Groom Blindfolded The bride and bridesmaids all sit in a row on chairs and hold out a leg. The groom is blindfolded and has to guess which leg belongs to the bride. Love Is In The Air Pair up the unmarried men with the married men on the dance floor and have a “couple” dance off. The unmarried man of the best dancing couple wins the garter. Bust A Move Have the unmarried men put on their best dance moves. As the song progresses, if the bridesmaids think someone’s dance moves need improving they tap them on the shoulder to leave the dance floor. The last one remaining on the dance floor wins. Arm Wrestle Pair off 8 men and have them lie down on the dance floor and arm wrestle each other. The 4 winners then pair off for another round, and then the final 2. The winner removes the garter. Hips Don’t Lie Line up 6 men on the dance floor. Have 6 stockings ready each with a tennis ball inside. Have the men tie the stocking to their belt buckle so that the stocking hangs down between their legs. Place a matchbox or something of similar weight in front of them. When the DJ starts the song them have to Wedding Reception Games - Garter swing their hips back and forth to try and hit the matchbox from one end of the dance floor to the other. No feet or hands are allowed. The first one to do this gets to remove the garter. Air Guitar Have the men take turns doing their best air guitar to a classic rock ballad. The bridesmaids or guests get to vote. Scavenger Hunt Have a certain number of men to be first back to the dance floor with an item of clothing or personal belonging. They must ask permission first before taking the item from the guests or their partner and show it to one of the bridesmaids. Have 3-4 rounds and for each round make eliminations by reducing the number of men that must be first back to the dance floor. The last one should have them wearing lipstick. The winner gets to remove the garter. .

These "world's fairs" were the emblems of an era confident that its technological achievements would assure greater human progress and international harmony.
