Day 1 - Lima/Trujillo (-/-/-)

Upon arrival in Trujillo early in the morning, you will be met by our representative and private driver, and will be transferred to your hotel.

On arrival to the Moche valley, you will be received by a traditional family that descends from the ancient people who built the amazing Sun and the Moon pyramids, the center of power in the northern coast of during Moche times. Get impressed in front of a stunning set of mud-brick friezes on the walls of the Temple of the Moon. Later, you will be able to appreciate several artifacts and tombs of the Mochica Culture at the on-site museum Huacas de Moche, which displays various utensils and ceramics.

The visit continues to the Arco Iris Temple (Dragon) from the Chimu Culture, then you will visit the archeological complex of . This place was home to 100,000 habitants who stubbornly resisted the expansion of the Inca Empire. The archaeological remains of Chan Chan are rather well preserved although built with mud bricks. Then you will continue to , a traditional seaside town, where you can watch the local fishermen on their traditional “Caballitos de Totora” or reed boats.

Day 2 - Trujillo/ (B/L/-)

Visit beautiful colonial mansions in Trujillo and marvel at their well-preserved and imposing portals, balconies and churches. You will also visit Archaeological Museum of the “Universidad Nacional de Trujillo” for an overview of the region’s pre-Columbian cultures.

El Brujo pyramid rises about 98 feet above the surrounding desert and covers an area of roughly 330 sq feet. It was built with tens of thousands of adobe bricks. Its walls are covered with polychrome reliefs that show war motifs, its goods, animals, plants and net-fishing. Just some years ago, a well-preserved tattooed mummy of a young woman, who belongs to the Moche Royalty, has been discovered deep inside pyramid. She has been called “Señora de Cao” and she is exhibited in the Museum.

Day 3 - Chiclayo (B/L/-)

We start with a morning visit to Bosque de Pomac, located 35 km north of Chiclayo. This incredible place, a vast forest of algarrobo trees on the old grounds of the Batan Grande sugar cane hacienda, is dotted with dozens of ancient pyramids belonging to the Sican culture, descendants of the Moche. The site was first excavated in 1978 by the Japanese archaeologist and anthropologist Izumi Shimada, but it wasn’t until 1992 that his team discovered a tomb of an elite member of Sican society. From this grave, 1.2 tonnes of precious metals in the form of jewellery and religious artifacts were removed, now stored in the National Sican Museum.

After the visit, we continue the visit to Sican Museum, that is located in Ferreñafe, about 20 km or 25 minutes from the city of Chiclayo. It is along the road to the Bosque de Pómac Historical Sanctuary. It shows the different aspects of daily life of the Sican culture; including pottery making and metal crafts. In addition, the Sican Museum has an interesting display of the tombs of the Sican nobility.

We end out day with a visit to Túcume, an imposing 26-pyramid site of the Lambayeque culture.

Day 4 - Chiclayo/Lima (B/L/-)

Morning excursion to the magnificent mud-brick burial platform of where the world- famous Tomb of the Lord of Sipan was discovered. Admire fabulous gold artifacts, precious stones and the ancient Moche civilization’s history.

Afterwards, visit the brand new Tumbas Reales Museum and discover the North’s historical richness.

After the visit our personnel will take you to the Chiclayo Airport. Upon arrival into the airport, you will be met by our representative who will assist you with check-in procedures and any departure formalities for your next flight.
