In Inkberrow, Cookhill, Kington and Dormston Inkberrow Eagles Girls FC MAY 2021 Tuesday Afternoon Tea Club In March this year the “T” Club celebrated its 10th Anniversary. To mark this occasion the Parish Council has granted permission for daffodils to be planted under the trees along Chestnut Lane. This area is the “SHOP FRONT” of the village and we plan to enhance its beauty each spring. If you have not already donated towards this project and you would like to contribute perhaps in memory of a loved one please can you pop your donation through my letter box. Cheques if possible made payable to the Tuesday Afternoon Tea Club no later than Saturday 8th May 2021. Please include your name and address to receive a receipt for your donation. The hard work of planting will be done by the Young Farmers on Saturday 25th September. Weather permitting we plan a welcome “get together” for contributors and helpers on the afternoon of the planting at Chestnut Lane for tea, cakes and a chat from 2 p.m. onwards. With your kind donation, in the spring of years to come we may be able to quote Wordsworth: “Ten thousand daffodils saw I at a glance” Looking forward to hearing from you. • In Inkberrow, Cookhill, Kington and Dormston
In Inkberrow, Cookhill, Kington and Dormston “ September2020 THANKS TO THE STAFF OF THE FORGE SHOP, INKBERROW During these days of seemingly unending ‘social distancing’, the one institution in the village which has risen to the occasion and made sure none of us is without essential groceries, plus a ready supply of fresh fruit and vegetables, not to mention such necessities as cleaning products and face- masks, is the Forge Shop. Not only are they supplying essentials, but also the exterior of the building is made welcoming with cut flowers and potted plants, plus compost for garden lovers. The interior of the shop is clearly marked for shoppers to ‘hand-sanitise’ on entry and then walk in the recommended direction for finding groceries, ending with a cheerful, helpful person on the till at the end. INKBERROW W.I. CENTENARY WOOD RAFFLE FOR THIS PAINTING! An artist’s impression of the Centenary Wood in 2040. TICKETS £1.00 from the Forge Shop, the Old Bull and the Art Fair. Raffle to be drawn on September 30th To celebrate their 2020 Centenary, INKBERROW WI planted 100 trees on the old ‘INKBERROW COMMON’, which for years has been inaccessible to our community after being strewn with tons of builder’s rubble and overgrown with brambles. A generously sponsored digger was engaged to clear the site and with borrowed equipment, a water-trough is kept full for the use of the many villagers who adopted their chosen tree - intending to water it and keep it weed-free. Recently the WI hired the digger-man again, this time to level the ground in preparation for seeding with grass and wild flowers in September.

  • Parish Registers on Microfilm at the Hive Worcestershire Archive And
Parish Registers on Microfilm at The Hive Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service 2012 Introduction to the Parish Register Handlist The Hive holds parish registers for Worcestershire dating from the mid 16th century onwards. The church registers contain records of Baptisms, Marriages and Burials. These records are a major focus of study for family, local and social history, as they contain a wealth of information. As such, much of the information has been copied for ease of access and use. This handlist is a guide to what is currently available in our Self-service area. What Information does the Handlist provide? The name of the village. The Civil and Ancient parishes are often the same but there may have been changes over time. The name of the church from which the registers originated. This can be useful if there is more than one in a particular parish. For example, in Worcester City there are several parish churches. The name of the civil parish which now encompasses the ancient parish. Information on what register copies are available on microfilm. Dates of any transcriptions either in volumes or available on CD. Please see our handlist to parish register transcriptions and our list of CD holdings for further details The Notes column provides further information such as where parishes have been formed out of others. The registers we hold largely relate to Worcestershire, but as the diocese of Worcester has changed over the centuries we may hold registers from other counties too. Some parishes will return the result 'no information'. This usually means that we do not hold the registers for that parish.
