  • Chakravyuh Was an Impregnable Army Formation Resorted to by the Kaurva Commander-In- Chief, Daronachariya, Common Teacher of Both Pandavas and Kauravas
Chakravyuh was an impregnable army formation resorted to by the Kaurva Commander-in- Chief, Daronachariya, common teacher of both Pandavas and Kauravas. Abhimanyu (16), the younger son of Arjun and the nephew of the Kauravas, was isolated and killed by seven opposing knights by trapping him in this particularly contrived military manoeuvre. It was a formation which none other than Arjun and his son could penetrate and only Arjun knew how to destroy it. Arjun was lured far away from the scene by deception. At the time of killing, young Abhimanyu was unarmed. It was against the earlier settled laws of war and customs of chivalry prevalent in the age, to kill an unarmed warrior. The highest ranking knights owing allegiance to forces of evil, ganged up to fight and to kill him though only one of them could have legitimately engaged him, and that only when he was armed. All Indian political parties have erected a Chakravyuh around the Sikhs who have common ancestors with other Indians. They are doing this to the Sikhs behind the facade (Chakravyuh) of secular, democratic state with written constitution. The object is also the same - to gain exclusive, unlimited political power over all other nations inhabiting the sub-continent. Country Advice India India – IND39966 – Nai/Rai/Jatt Sikh Castes – Inter-Caste Couples – Relocation – Tracing of Individuals 4 April 2012 1. Do the Nai Sikh, Rai Sikh, and Jatt Sikh castes exist? If so, please provide general information on each, including whether Nai Sikh and Rai Sikh are ever described as being Backward Classes or Other Backward Classes? Yes, Nai Sikh, Rai Sikh and Jatt (also Jat) Sikh castes exist. Nai Nai caste is a Hindu caste.1 According to comments posted on a discussion forum on the website India Culture, which the author claims are from a book published in 1970 titled Sikhs by A.H. Bingley, „Nai Sikh‟ describes those members of the Nai caste who follow the Sikh religion.2 Traditionally, Nais are associated with hairdressing, cutting nails, shaving etc., and are described in People of India: Punjab as being “just above the Scheduled Castes” but nonetheless a „low caste‟.3 Nai caste is listed as an Other Backward Class (OBC), according to the central list of OBCs for the State of Punjab.4 Rai Sikh The Rai Sikh caste is associated with the Mahatam and Sirkiband Hindu castes.5 One report was found in which Sirkiband is described as being synonymous with Rai Sikh.6 This seems to be supported by the existence of an All-India Rai Sikh, Mahatma and Sirkiband Welfare Association.7 1 Bansal, IJ.S. and Singh, S. ed. • How and Why the Message of Guru Nanak Got Distorted?
April 2020 > VIEWPOINT How and Why the Message of Guru Nanak got distorted? HARDEV SINGH VIRK Last year, during the 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak, large scale celebrations have been organised by Indian Council of Cultural Affairs (ICCR), a wing of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Govt. of India at global level. I participated in this programme as a guest speaker in the universities of British Columbia (Canada). Punjab Govt. and SGPC are also involved in spreading the message of Guru Nanak by holding separate programmes to suit their agenda and convenience. Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) is also not left behind in holding International Conference on "Life and Legacy of Guru Nanak" at Mata Sundari College, Delhi on 6-7 December. Delhi Akali Dal (Sarna Group) put a feather in its turban by organising a procession from Delhi to Nankana Sahib and Kartarpur to install a Golden Palki at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur. This year too, a plethora of activities have been organised at global level in the form of Seminars and Kirtan darbars to spread the message of love, peace and humanism of Guru Nanak. Nearly half a dozen books have been published by celebrated authors on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak. I had the privilege to review some of these books and my reviews [1-3] have appeared in The Sikh Review during 2019-20. I consider these books as milestones to the spread of Sikh religion and propagation of the message of its founder in the modern context. Another milestone worth mentioning is the opening of Kartarpur Corridor between India and Pakistan which is expected to promote goodwill and harmony between peoples of Punjab.

Impunity means the impossibility of holding perpetrators accountable because they are shielded by law or protected by political institutions and powers. Ensaaf’s cutting edge advocacy is implemented though four coordinated programs: Community Organizing to mobilize survivors to become active participants for change; Documentation & Education to expose violations and counter official denials; Legal Advocacy to remove perpetrators from power through legal accountability; and United Nations advocacy to build international consensus, support and pressure to end impunity for mass state crimes in India.

  • POLITICS of GENOCIDE: PUNJAB 1984 - 1998 Are Not Avilable in the Electronic Version of This Book
I THE BACKGROUND 2 1 WHY PUNJAB? Exit British, Enter Congress In 1849 the Sikh empire fell to the British army; it was the last of their conquests. Nearly a hundred years later when the British were about to relinquish India they were negotiating with three parties; namely the Congress Party largely supported by Hindus, the Muslim League representing the Muslims and the Akali Dal representing the Sikhs. Before 1849, the Satluj was the boundary between the kingdom of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and other Sikh states, such as Patiala (the largest and most influential), Nabha and Jind, Kapurthala, Faridkot, Kulcheter, Kalsia, Buria, Malerkotla (a Muslim state under Sikh protection). Territory under Sikh rulers stretched from the Peshawar to the Jamuna. Those below the Satluj were known as the Cis-Satluj states. 3 In these pre-independence negotiations, the Akalis, led by Master Tara Singh, represented the Sikhs residing in the territory which had once been Ranjit Singh’s kingdom; Yadavindra Singh, Maharaja of Patiala, spoke for the Cis- Satluj states. Because the Sikh population was thinly dispersed all over these areas, the Sikhs felt it was not possible to carve out an entirely separate Sikh state and had allied themselves with the Congress whose policy proclaimed its commitment to the concept of unilingual states with a federal structure and assured the Sikhs that “no future Constitution would be acceptable to the Congress that did not give full satisfaction to the Sikhs.” Gandhi supplemented this assurance by saying: “I ask you to accept my word and the resolution of the Congress that it will not betray a single individual, much less a community ..
