Last week, I had the honor of giving the Parent Perspective during the African American Male Scholars Induction Ceremony. The induction ceremony was so inspiring seeing all the academic achievements of our high achieving African American young men. Great job to the advisors: Mr. Brooks and Mr. Hicks. Next, I attended our top notch Jazz Band performance during an evening concert in the beautiful Woodbury Auditorium. The Jazz band just blew me away by their execution of 8 songs. This week, I gave the closing remarks for the African American Female Scholars Program. The young ladies accomplished and experienced many excellent achievements throughout this school year. Great job to the advisors: Mrs. Garrison, Ms. Hughes, Ms. Moore and Mrs. Thomas-Taylor. I concluded my week by attending both the 5th and 6th grade band concerts as they performed at SHHS. I had the chance to hear them during their dress rehearsal last week, but they blew me away by their performances in front of a packed gymnasium.
