Here are the 10 worst characters on The Walking Dead. You could give Father Gabriel points for trying these days. Father Gabriel could be an interesting and valuable character if we had a better understanding of what drives him. Lori Grimes AMC. And she made the ultimate sacrifice just to give her unborn child the chance to live. Still, most of the decisions Lori made were completely incomprehensible. Tomas AMC. Still, when it came to the prisoners that Rick and Co. He was stubborn, rude, and unnecessarily hateful toward the people that more or less offered them at a chance at life. And he ended up getting himself and his friend killed, simply because he was unwilling to negotiate. Gareth AMC. The Walking Dead fans have learned that there are many ways to survive a zombie apocalypse, and very few of them involve keeping both your sanity and your humanity entirely intact. Gareth seemed like he could be a compelling, interesting character at first. Unfortunately, he quickly took a turn into the over-the-top villain category. His obsessive need to hunt down Rick and his friends was even stranger, though. Since it was hard to understand why, exactly, he was acting so erratically, it was hard to really get invested in his character. It was pretty cool to watch Rick take him down, though. Andrea AMC. In short, she ended up being the opposite of her comic book counterpart: waffle-y, whiny, and unable to take a stand when it really counts. She shacked up with Shane and the Governor, both of whom were actively trying to kill her friends and allies. At times, it seemed like she was purposely working against her own best interests. Some fans may have felt bad for the folks in Alexandria, at least for a little while. When we first met them, they were living an idyllic existence, seemingly immune to the horrors of the apocalypse. Then, they had The Walking Dead Chronicles deal with the harsh reality that he was no longer safe. Some characters, like Aaron, handled that reality better than others. Spencer Monroe, perhaps, handled it the worst, though. Yes, he was grieving the loss of his entire family. His arrogance was never justified, his The Walking Dead Chronicles to help protect Alexandria almost always backfired. In short, Spencer split his The Walking Dead Chronicles on The Walking Dead Chronicles Walking Dead between being a serious problem and being a complete jerk. Gregory AMC. Still, some have mastered it better than others. His approach to governing is fairweather at best. He seems content to let Negan walk all over him and his people. He seems to have very little respect for women, or anyone who disagrees with him. If fans loved to hate a villain like the Governor, or even Negan, The Walking Dead Chronicles probably hate to have to spend so much time with Gregory The Walking Dead Chronicles their TV screens. In some ways, Pete Anderson took a page right out of the Ed Pelletier playbook. Except, in his case, he was able to beat his wife and kids under his own The Walking Dead Chronicles in Alexandria, rather than in a tent on the side of the road. For one, Ed never pretended to be a nice guy — Pete did. And when his attempts at covering up his domestic violence habits blew up in his face, he turned his rage on others. But it was actually a relief when Deanna finally gave Rick the go ahead to just get rid of the guy. The fact that he abused Carol and Sophia, and was a surly jerk to Rick, Shane and the rest of the group, just made him that much more awful. Really, as a human being, and a Walking Dead character, he really had no redeeming qualities. Even though he only lasted a few episodes, it was a relief to see him go — and downright therapeutic to watch Carol desecrate his walker-chomped remains. The series changed profoundly since he came on board in the final moments of Season 6. His unique brand of potty-mouthed, abusive leadership has altered the way that Rick and his allies live their lives. That makes him unique to most other The Walking Dead Chronicles TWD villains, and not in a good way. Follow Katherine Webb on Twitter prufrox. Check out Entertainment Cheat Sheet on Facebook! The 10 Worst Episodes of 'The Walking Dead' Every TV series has its ups and downs. The best episodes offer up moments that remind fans, The Walking Dead Chronicles and again, why they started watching in the first place. The Walking Dead is no exception. After all, while infuriating, those episodes did offer up some spectacular performances from the cast and set the course of the series, for better or worse. The worst episodes usually represent the weakest moments, as far as storytelling is concerned. Sometimes, these episodes are just hopelessly slow. These episodes tend to drag the entire momentum of a season down, at least for a moment. No matter what, they The Walking Dead Chronicles represent an hour of our lives we wish we could get back. Here are the 10 worst episodes of The Walking Dead. They tried valiantly to fill the time between The Walking Dead Chronicles Sophia went missing and when we finally learned her horrible fate. What they ended up with was a slew of slogging episodes that felt like they were going nowhere. While it provided a moment of levity in an otherwise somber season, that sequence became a metaphor for the whole season — bloated, dramatic, gory, but ultimately stuck in one place. Lori grapples with whether or not she should terminate her pregnancy. Hershel and Dale butt heads over the walkers in the barn. Shane and Andrea shoot things, and then hook up. The Walking Dead Chronicles a brief moment in time, the prison seemed like it would truly be a sanctuary for Rick Grimes and his friends. But in true Walking Dead fashion, it ended up being a place of death and turmoil, until The Walking Dead Chronicles was destroyed for good. In early Season The Walking Dead Chronicles, the inhabitants faced a new threat — the flu. On paper, the idea that natural, once-innocuous threats could once again rear their ugly heads was an interesting concept The Walking Dead Chronicles explore. But the series dragged the story out for several episodes. For almost an entire year, the Governor was a compelling and frightening villain on The Walking Dead. While David Morrissey was an undeniable presence in TWDan episode devoted to his character ended up falling pretty flat. And as a result the episode just felt, well, weird. Sure, Daryl is always a crowd-pleaser, and learning a bit more about his backstory was fun for his fans. But Norman Reedus had already infused his character with deep enough layers that learning the gritty details of his pre-apocalypse life was, in a strange sense, anticlimactic. The series took a chance on exploring the dynamic between Daryl and Beth, and while it was definitely a change of pace, in the end it was more stilted than stimulating. Throughout Season 6, it started to become pretty obvious that something was a bit off on The Walking Dead. The series had brought in a slew of new characters, and was struggling to find the The Walking Dead Chronicles between giving us a chance to The Walking Dead Chronicles to know them, and keeping up with our old favorites. Instead, the series strung us along and made us watch Maggie suffer through her own uncertainty over his fate. She and Aaron slogged through the sewers, seemingly in search of him, only to give up almost immediately when they ran into a walker-filled dead end. The Walking Dead has always built up a lot of momentum around its mid-season finales. The entire episode felt a lot like chaos — with walkers bearing down on Alexandria, there was little time for any of the characters to think clearly, and the stakes were especially high.

Building Future Forests: Politics, Ecology, and the Co-Production of Landscape in Southeastern Ohio Thesis Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree Master of Arts in the Graduate School of The Ohio State University By Justine Marie Law, B.S. Graduate Program in Geography Ohio State University 2010 Thesis Committee: Kendra McSweeney, Advisor Becky Mansfield Joel Wainwright Copyright by Justine Marie Law 2010 Abstract Southeastern Ohio, officially designated a part of Appalachia, was heavily dependent on coal mining from the mid-1800s until the 1970s. But despite the region’s history of resource extraction, its forest has largely returned. Interestingly, almost all of this reforestation occurred on private land owned by thousands of individuals. These private forest owners are often viewed as inadequate stewards of the land, and interest groups are constantly pushing governance strategies that would remake the forest to suit their own agendas. Thus, a struggle over this newly-mature forest, its resources, and its future has begun. Here I attempt first to show how local forests owners are actually knowledgeable, active, economically-savvy, and organized scientists navigating a complicated, power-laden space filled with stereotypes and competing interests. Second, I discuss the connections between soils, trees, nutrients, animals, interest groups, landowners, and economies on this landscape and argue that ecological and human processes are knotted too tightly together to ever be untangled. Finally, through linking human and non-human processes, I explore the possibilities of how southeast Ohio's forests could look years from now. Many of these possibilities are so drastically dissimilar from both each other and today's forest that they would certainly have significant repercussions on local landscapes, ecosystems, and livelihoods.

A place where they might enjoy the fruits of their labors. Among these pioneers was a group of Scotch-Irish Presbyterians who travelled down the "Great Road" from Philadelphia through Virginia until they came to the beautiful rolling land between the Yadkin and Catawba Rivers. Turning westward from the Yadkin this group, known as able- bodied, hardy, famous marksmen, strangers to fear, and lovers of freedom and good land, continued on their way beyond the first, second and third creeks to the fourth creek after which their settlement was named.

  • 40Th Commencement Exercises
Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences “Learning to Care for Those in Harm’s Way” 40th Commencement Exercises Saturday, the Eighteenth of May, Two Thousand and Nineteen The Mace he mace was a weapon of war originating with the loaded club and stone hammer of Tprimitive man. Although it continued to be used as a weapon through the Middle Ages, during this period it also became symbolic as an ornament representing power. Sergeants-at-Arms, who were guards of kings and other high officials, carried a mace to protect their monarch during processions. By the 14th century, the mace had become more ceremonial in use and was decorated with jewels and precious metals, losing its war-club appearance. Three hundred years later, the mace was used solely as a symbol of authority. The mace is used during sessions of legislative assemblies such as the U.S. House of Representatives, where it is placed to the right of the Speaker. More frequently, maces are seen at university commencements and convocations, exemplifying knowledge as power. The USU mace was a glorious gift from the Honorable Sam Nixon, MD, past chairman of the Board of Regents, and his wife, Elizabeth. The mace was used for the first time at the 1995 commencement ceremony. It is handcrafted in sterling silver and carries the seal of the university along with the emblems of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Public Health Service. The university seal and service emblems are superimposed on the earth’s globe to symbolize the worldwide mission of the university and its graduates.
