    ils tra ure nat d other Follow the E4 an us. pr Cy EUROPEAN LONG DISTANCE PATH E4 INTRODUCTION The European long distance path E4 was extended to Cyprus following a proposal by the Greek Ramblers Association to the European Ramblers Association, the coordinating body of the European Network of long distance paths. The main partners in Cyprus are the Cyprus Tourism Organisation and the Forestry Department. The path starts at Gibraltar, passes through Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, mainland Greece, the Greek island of Crete, to the island of Cyprus. In its Cyprus section, European path E4 connects Larnaka and Pafos international airports. Along the route, it traverses Troodos mountain range, Akamas peninsula and long stretches of cural areas, along regions of enhanced natural beauty and high ecological, historic, archaeological, cultural and scientific value. Few people have the time or the stamina to tackle the whole route in one go. The information given here is a general outline, to assist ramblers identify the path route. It is by no means a detailed description of all aspects of covered areas. Ramblers are strongly advised to research further any path section(s) to be attempted, with particular emphasis in the availability and proximity of overnight licensed accommodation establishments, especially in remote mountain and rural areas. It should be stressed that the route by no means represents all that Cyprus has to offer the rambler. It is primarily designed as cross- country route, and as such is inevitably selective, missing out some fine landscapes and/or cultural sites. It does however provide a sampler of the scenic and cultural variety that is Cyprus.

The trail is type of circular with length 89.740 meters, so the total distance you are going to travel, if you return to the starting point, is 89.740 meters. Starting at Paphos and with the direction to the next interesting point, Agios Georgios, where we are going to go about 14.600 meters of asphalt road. The accessibility is good and the sloping of the road is small. Initially, the kind of the landscape we meet is urban and then it is seaside. The cultural elements of the trail are ancient sights, churches and architectural elements. During the trail, there are leisure areas, hostels, taverns, dining areas and hotels. Notes : In Saint George, we can see the Saint George Church. We can also admire the remarkable curved caves of the area. 2. Agios Georgios From Agios Georgios we go on and directing to Peya, where we are going to go about 2.590 meters of asphalt road. The accessibility is good and the sloping of the road is big. In exercise of the powers vested in the Governor by section 2 of the Curfews Laws, 1955, and delegated to me under section 2A of the said Laws by Notification No. 666 published in Supplement No. 3 to the Gazette of the 19th July, 1956, I do hereby order as follows :— 1. This Order may be cited as the Curfews (Paphos District No. 43) Order, 1957. 2. No person within the area prescribed in the First Schedule hereto shall be out of doors between the hours prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto except under the authority of a written permit granted by the Commissioner of Paphos or the Superintendent of Police in charge of the area : Provided that this Order shall not apply to any member of the Executive Council, Her Majesty's Forces, or the Cyprus Police Force. This Order shall come into force on the 31st day of January, 1957, at 17.00 hours. FIRST SCHEDULE. Within the village boundaries of Kissonerga and Khlorakas. SECOND SCHEDULE. 1. Between 17.00 hours on the 31st day of January, 1957, and 14.00 hours on the 1st February, 1957 ; 2.
