Monti (Tony Ward), ein schlagfertiger Junge, der eher zufällig als Stricher auf dem Boulevard anschafft, wird von einem bohemienhaften Ausländer namens Jürgen Anger (Bruce LaBruce) beobachtet, der nach Los Angeles gekommen ist, um seine Memoiren zu schreiben. Monti begeht Fahrerflucht, nachdem er einen Kunden beraubt hat und überfährt dabei aus Versehen einen anderen Stricher. Jürgen sieht Monti nach dem Unfall und verfolgt ihn in seinem Wagen. Leider verliert er ihn aus den Augen, findet aber das zurückgelassene T-Shirt von Monti, mit dem der das Blut von seinem Auto abgewischt hat. Jürgen versucht weiterhin, Monti zu finden. Monti wird bei seinen alltäglichen Begegnungen mit anderen Strichern, Kunden oder bei einem Pornodreh beobachtet. Einige der Charaktere, die wir im Laufe des Films kennenlernen, sind Eigil (Kevin P. Scott), der Stricher, der von Monti überfahren wurde, Piglet (Ivar Johnson), der unglücklich in Eigil verliebt ist sowie die Kunden Stew Blake (Glen Meadmore), ein wiedergeborener Country- und Western-Sänger und Seymore Kasabian (RonAthey), ein Bestatter, ganz zu schweigen von den echten Pornostars Kevin Kramer und Alex Austin als sie selbst. Die Erzählstruktur des Films orientiert sich an Robert Altmans “Short Cuts”, aber man findet auch Elemente aus “Alice im Wunderland”, “Tod in Venedig”, “Was geschah wirklich mit Baby Jane?”, “Das Doppelleben der Sister George” und “Madame de…”. “Hustler White” ist auf keinen Fall ein Musical, trotzdem gibt es Musik von den Boredoms, Glen Meadmore und PME. In “Hustler White” erscheinen keine Frauen, keine Drag Queens, keine Drogen, und es gibt kein Aids. ÜBER DIE REGISSEURE Bruce LaBruce Bruce LaBruce (geboren am 3. Januar 1964 in Southampton, Ontario; eigentlich Justin Stewart) ist ein kanadischer Filmemacher, Autor und Fotograf. LaBruce lebt und arbeitet in Toronto und Berlin. Im Herbst 2008 läuft sein neuer Film “Otto; or, Up with Dead People“ in den deutschen Kinos an. Im Winter 2008 realisiert er im “HAU“ sein zweites Theaterstück in Berlin. Bruce LaBruce besuchte die Filmschule in Toronto und hat Filmtheorie an der New York University studiert. Zu seinen künstlerischen Anfängen gehören Arbeiten für schwule Punk-Fanmagazine und das Produzieren von Super-8-Filmen. Er veröffentlicht Fotografien in verschiedenen Independent-Magazinen. Von LaBruce stammen weiterhin eine ganze Reihe kontroverser Filme, in denen er künstlerische Techniken des Independentfilm mit schwuler Pornografie mischt. Zu LaBruces Lieblingsfilmen gehören “Shampoo” und “Innenleben”. Sein neuestes Projekt ist der Film “Otto; or, Up with Dead People” (Verleih GMfilms, Premiere in Sundance 2008), welcher 2008 veröffentlicht werden wird. Castro begann seine Karriere als Assistent von Fotografen wie Herb Ritts, George Hurell, Annie Liebowitz und Joel-Peter Witkin Sein erstes Buch „Castro“ kam 1991 bei Tom of Finland Press heraus. Seine Fotos sind in Drummer, Mach, Advocate, Taste of Latex und Männer Aktuell erschienen. August 1958 in Bad Honnef) ist ein deutscher Filmemacher und -produzent. Brüning studierte nach dem Abitur 1978 in Berlin Pädagogik und Psychologie und war Mitglied der damaligen Hausbesetzerszene. 1980 gründete er das Eiszeit-Kino in Berlin mit, experimentierte mit Super 8 und begann seine Karriere als Filmemacher. 1986 drehte er für das ZDF das TV-Drama Kinder der Konfettimaschine, 1992 hob er das Schwullesbische Filmfestival Berlin aus der Taufe, 1996 gründete er die Filmproduktionsfirma Cazzo Film, zog sich aber nach fünf Jahren davon zurück um eine neue Firma namens Wurstfilm zu gründen. 2006 initiierte er das Pornfilmfestival Berlin. Brüning lebt und arbeitet in Berlin. Als Model arbeitete er mit Herb Ritts, Greg Gorman, Rick Castro, Steven Meisel und Ellen von Unwerth. “Hustler White” ist seine erste große Filmrolle. Kevin Kramer Kevin Kramer war zur Zeit der Veröffentlichung von “Hustler White” der bekannteste “bottom” der US-amerikanischen Pornoindustrie. Schon als Kind stand er vor der Kamera. Fotos von ihm sind bei “Male”, “Attitudes” und “Freshman” erschienen. Zu sehen ist er auch in Jochen Hicks Dokumentarfilm “Cycles of Porn“. Alex Austin Alex Austin war zur Zeit der Veröffentlichung von “Hustler White” ein aufstrebender Pornostar mit Herkunft Washington DC. Ron Athey Ron Athey wurde in Groton, Connecticut am 16. December 1961 geboren. Seit 1963 lebt er in Los Angeles. 1981 begann seine Karriere als Performer zusammen mit Rozz Williams und dem Stück "Premature Ejaculation". Seine körperbezogenen Darstellungen gehen bis zur Simulation des eigenen Suizids. Athey ist regelmäßiger Gast an vielen internationalen Bühnen, beispielsweise Kampnagel. Glen Meadmore Glen Meadmore ist ein schwuler christlicher Country-and-Western Sänger, geboren in Winnipeg, lebend in Los Angeles. Seine Alben tragen Titel wie “Hot Horny and Born Again”. Er arbeitete mit Künstlern wie Vaginal Davis (Throbbing Gristle). Im Soundtrack zu “Hustler White” finden sich Titel von Meadmore. Meadmores Spiel mit seiner Christlichkeit (seine Musik erscheint auf dem Label “Pervertidora“) bleibt rätselhaft. Kevin P. Scott Kevin P. Scott ist kein Schauspieler, sondern bekam seine Rolle in “Hustler White”, weil er für Rick Castro Modell stand. Sonst arbeitet er als Gärtner. Ivar Johnson Auch Ivar Johnson ist kein Schauspieler, sondern stand ebenfalls für Rick Castro Modell. Der frühere Bankkaufmann war zur Zeit der Veröffentlichung für die Tom of Finland Foundation tätig. Graham David Smith Graham David Smith hat nach eigenen Angaben schon vor “Hustler White” in einem Film mitgewirkt, und zwar in Fellinis “Julia und die Geister”. Der gebürtige Brite schrieb Kinderbücher und betätigte sich als Kunstfälscher. Vaginal Davis Vaginal Davis wurde am 20. Februar 1969 geboren und ist genauso groß wie RuPaul. Davis, die sich nach Angela Davis nennt, ist eine queere Aktivistin in Musik und Presse. Sie arbeitete sowohl für Fanzines wie das “Fertile La Toyah Jackson Magazine“, “Shrimp“, “J.D.s“, aber auch Blätter wie “LA Weekly“ oder das “Zoo Magazine“. Seit 2007 lebt Davis in Berlin und arbeitet mit der Theatergruppe Cheap.. Ryan Black Ryan Black war zur Zeit der Veröffentlichung von “Hustler White” ein Pornostar.
