To gather Cast Points, an inmate must perform in the facility's lethal games and survive. Fortunately for Ganta, he is aided by a mysterious albino girl named Shiro who apparently knows Ganta but whose existence is unknown to the other prisoners. While trying to survive as an inmate on death row, Ganta intends to find the "Red Man" to clear his name. In a bizarre twist, Ganta begins to develop the ability to manipulate his own blood, to the point of turning it into a weapon. Unknown to Ganta, he has become one of the prison's "Deadmen," an isolated group of prisoners possessing the Branches of Sin which is an ability which makes them capable of controlling their blood for their own uses. After his ability is discovered, Ganta is forced to participate in brutal gladiatorial death matches known as Carnival Corpse, whose anonymous spectators pay large amounts of money to watch. In his long struggle to survive, he manages to befriend some of those he fought off in the arena and with their help, Ganta continues his quest to uncover the identity of the 'Red Man', why he turned into a Deadman, and the dark secrets the prison authorities are hiding. Deadman Wonderland is Japan's only privately operated prison, built after the Great Tokyo Earthquake on ground zero. It gathers prisoners from all over Japan and raises money for the revival of the destroyed . To the public and the tourists that visit daily, Deadman Wonderland is a massive theme park-like facility run by the prison population. Unbeknownst to the general population, most of the prison's attractions involve cruel games of survival where many inmates lose their lives or are maimed for the entertainment of an oblivious public. The prison guards are also granted autonomy over how to punish the prisoners, which often results in bloodshed. Each prisoner is fitted with a collar that functions as a life monitor, locator, and stunner. The prisoners on death row receive poison injections through their special collar and must consume a special antidote candy every three days. Their collars contain countdown timers that warn the wearer with blinking and beeping Deadman: Volume 2 time is running low. When the timer reaches zero, the collar Deadman: Volume 2 the word "DEAD" and the inmate immediately succumbs to the poison and dies. Afterwards, the collar unlocks allowing it to be removed. The collars can also be removed by cards used by the prison guards. While the threat of violence is constant at the prison, most prisoners enjoy a great deal of liberty inside Deadman Wonderland. Utilizing Cast Points, the prison's unique form of currency, prisoners can purchase a wide variety of items from ordinary lunches, luxurious furniture for their rooms, and even years off of their Deadman: Volume 2. However, Cast Points can't be used to buy the freedom of a Deadman. Those on Deadman: Volume 2 row also use Cast Points to purchase their life-saving candies. Despite its Deadman: Volume 2 as a prison and theme park, Deadman Wonderland houses a much darker secret. Hidden away from the eyes of tourists and the general prison population is a massive underground facility known Deadman: Volume 2 "G Block". This is where the prison keeps their Deadmen secluded and where the Carnival Corpse arena is located. G Block also houses numerous laboratories and rooms where experiments on humans are performed and where scientists are attempting to harness the powers of the Deadmen for monetary and political gain. Eventually, Ganta and his Deadman allies received the assistance of Makina, the chief of the prison guards, to defeat Tsunenaga Tamaki. After Deadman Wonderland Deadman: Volume 2 closed, the necklaces were removed from the inmates. Most Deadman: Volume 2 the remaining inmates were transferred to different prisons where some of them were allowed a retrial. The viewers of the Carnival Corpse also place their bets on who would win. The winner is awarded a large number of Cast Points, life-saving candies, and other prizes. Deadman Volume 2 4 is an issue of the series Deadman Volume Deadman: Volume 2 with a cover date of June, Several friends and foes are heading towards Rama Kushna's temple located in the city of Nanda Parbat; circus performers Vashnu the fakir and Maxwell Loomis the midget, the evil Sensei who is leading his army of Psi-Gunners Deadman: Volume 2 her for battle and also Deadman, who has suddenly become solid while entering Nanda Parbat. When he is in the city limits, he's no longer a ghost, but an ordinary man. From behind, he is promptly head-butted by the back of a rifle, and falls. He wakes to find himself captured in a prison cell. His cellmates are the midget clown, Maxwell Loomis and the old man — Sensei. The old man reveals that his body was but a garment host for Jonah, and he should not be responsible for his past doings, due to being only a haunted soul. During the old man's confessions, Jonah now Deadman: Volume 2 like a young strong man enters the dungeon and threatens the old Deadman: Volume 2 with death and then takes Deadman and the midget away. Deadman is prepared for execution, with several blasters aimed at him waiting for Jonah's command. Meanwhile, inside the Deadman: Volume 2 of Rama Kushna, she and the fakir, Vashnu, are contemplating how to rescue Deadman, how to make him a spirit again in a land where he has no powers. Suddenly, a final sacrifice has begun, and Vashnu floats out of the temple as a messenger. He drifts towards Deadman: Volume 2 chained Deadman and is able to magically release him from his bonds. Jonah's firing squad shoot their blasters, killing Vashnu. Deadman escapes the squad and finds shelter inside Rama Kushna's temple. Within the temple, Rama Kushna comforts Deadman, saying Deadman: Volume 2 she admires his independence, and his power to serve. A circle of fire forms and she insists that Deadman take one last aerial leap. He does, and his shackles disappear and he is dead again Deadman: Volume 2 spirit. Outside the temple, Jonah smashes the door open and goes inside. He spots the circle of fire and confronts Rama Kushna with his Psi-Blaster. He acknowledges that though he was her first pawn, he has now grown hungry for more power. He rationalizes that he must kill her, or she will find others, like Boston Brand, to go after him. He fires his blaster and the temple crumbles down. Deadman sees Jonah and sneaks up behind him and pushes him down a pit. Outside, the captured midget Maxwell Loomis hears Rama Kushna voice speaking to him of the final balance and how he must soon enter the temple. At the bottom of the temple's pit, Jonah is still an ethereal man, but has been stripped of his weapons. Rama Kushna challenges him, her embraces his evil, smothering it until they merge; good and evil canceling each other out, and becoming nothing. The temple crashes down, and Maxwell goes in hunting for Boston Brand. His collapsed body is found, and the temple continues to suck itself in, disintegrating. Afterward, the temple is gone and Deadman lies in the arms of the midget and fades too. Looking about, Maxwell sees everyone dispersing from the scene, including the old man Sensei. Maxwell is left Deadman: Volume 2 with a few of the villager's kids, a hovercraft lands near them. Out pops the pilot, inhabited by Deadman. Everyone climbs inside the craft while Deadman explains that he did not die in his friends arms, but became a ghost again, so that he may continue his promise to Rama Kushna of rooting out evil and keeping the balance. Formed from the skeletons of many souls in hell, this blue-eyed, blonde-haired being comes to Earth to foment chaos and death. It manages to actually remove much of the Spectre's substance. Deadman is forced to merge with Spectre until things are stabilized. Later, Deadman receives a birthday present from his diminutive friend, Max Loomis. Max places himself in a trance so he could "meet" Deadman and the two take a pleasant journey down "memory lane", mainly Deadman's more pleasant memories of Nanda Parbat. Soon after, Loomis meets with old circus friends and Deadman involves himself in a case of suspected murder. Deadman wants to go after the escapees of Nanda Parbat, but Max thinks pursuing the murder is a better course. Over several years, a mysterious stranger has Deadman travel through time to try to save the souls of deceased heroes from the menace of Caldera. Due to the mental influence of various forces, Deadman is unable to use the knowledge of the timestream to benefit humanity. As a disembodied spirit, Deadman could not be seen or heard by most others certain mystics could still perceive himwas able to pass through objects, and could fly or float. He was able to possess any living being human or animalcontrol their actions, and could communicate with people through another's body. In one storyline, however, he could not control certain criminal henchmen he possessed due to their minds being under post-hypnotic suggestion since their minds were not truly theirs in that instance. The people he possessed retained no memory of the experience. He has issues possessing those with stronger minds like Batman and is often forced out in a short amount of time. Deadman also has problems with magic Deadman: Volume 2 his spiritual form can be manipulated by it to some degree. As a living human, he is an Olympic-level athlete well-trained in acrobatics. As a wearer of a White power ring he possesses whatever powers the ring confers upon its wielder. These powers, so far, include flight, invisibility or the ability to cloak his presenceteleportation, healing severe wounds, making solid energy constructs, and the power to bring beings back to life. However, he had no control over these new powers and the scope and limitations on those powers are as yet undefined. The Black Lantern power ring gave his reanimated corpse similar abilities, however it reanimates the dead instead of fully resurrecting them. Boston is still as obnoxious and arrogant as he was before he died and does not wish to be a part of the circus.
