This may seem a long time especially in this fast moving world but the Deleted: Version Core policies in this Core Strategy have been written to give them some flexibility and Strategy longevity as well as give the framework for other planning policies that will make up the Local Development Framework. The key priority is to keep the rural nature of the Borough and to ensure that when entering North Warwickshire it is clearly defined as being rural with a high quality of environment. It also seeks to tackle the key issues that the Borough faces of health, skills, and access to services and facilities, including affordable housing. Canley Brook Area Design summary www.hs2.org.uk Introduction HS2 High Speed Two (HS2) is the new high speed railway for Britain. In 2017, Parliament approved plans for the part of the railway that will run between the West Midlands and London. The design of HS2 is an ongoing process. A preliminary design was approved by Parliament, which our main works contractors are refining, within certain agreed limits. This work includes taking any opportunities to deliver HS2 as effectively as possible while minimising our impact on communities and the environment. As we undertake the next stage of design work on the railway, we would like to make the community aware of any work that affects them. This includes the design of HS2 in the Canley Brook area (Kenilworth Cutting, the A429, Canley Brook Viaduct and Crackley Road Cutting). This design summary explains how the scheme design has been changed in this area. For the latest information about this work please visit www.hs2inwarwickshire.co.uk Balfour Beatty Vinci Joint Venture Balfour Beatty Vinci (BBV) are the main works contractor for this area of the route. Their job is to prepare the final design of the HS2 route and build the railway in preparation for the track and signalling installation. 2014 - 2024 Green Space Strategy Rugby Borough Council BOROUGH UGBCOUNCIL Making Green Space Your Place R Y March 2014 Foreword The Borough of Rugby has some superb green spaces that everyone can be proud of. They are places where people can relax, enjoy nature, play or take part in sport or recreation. They are essential for the health and well-being of the Borough. However, there is more that can be done to improve the quality of our green spaces so that a greater diversity of people can visit and enjoy them. We know there is a high level of support for green spaces, at a time when they have never been under so much pressure. The Green Space Strategy for Rugby sets out proposals for how existing green spaces can be improved to be safer, cleaner, more accessible, and more sustain- able, especially within increased economic uncertainty. This Green Space Strategy is a key step towards protecting and improving Rugby’s green spac- es. It provides a vision and clear objectives for how the Council and its partners would like to see green spaces planned and managed for the next ten years. Some of the improvements proposed in this strategy will take time but this is a clear direction of travel. Improving Rugby’s green spaces will also require the support and commitment of the whole community – there are many ways in which everyone can help to improve our green spaces. I hope that you will play your part in helping everyone who lives and works in our Borough to achieve our shared vision to make Green Space Your Place in the Borough of Rugby. -
