Self-Profession: AAgriculturist, Politician, Social Worker Message It’s a matter of pride that SSR College of Pharmacy has come up with its Annual progress report 2018-19, highlighting major activities and achievement of the college in the year 2018-19. The SSR Memorial Trust was developed to cater the society with quality education and to improve the employability particularly in Dadra & Nagar Haveli. The initiative of setting up education hub was taken in the year 2003 particularly keeping into view the requirement of the residents and industrial community. The dearth of higher education facilities in the tribal region of Dadra & Nagar Haveli was felt, which lead to establishment of SSR Memorial Trust. The dream of providing higher education in the tribal region was accomplished by active support and association of academicians, professionals, industrialist and technocrats. Today the dream has transformed into reality and a campus comprising of different institutes have been developed to provide quality education to the students of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and the surrounding region. The college campus established near the industrial hub provides a unique learning environment to students. This year two students of the institute have secured position at the university level in Bachelor of Pharmacy. I congratulate Ms. Khadija Godal and Ms. Sonal Padey for securing 4th and 7th rank, and making such excellent contribution in the success pages of the college. The college has state of art facilities along with young, dedicated, pragmatic and experienced faculties who have always been the driving force towards the success of college. I am glad that at SSR College of Pharmacy, the college practices student centered learning keeping into view strength and ability on individual basis. The college presents the atmosphere of ‘home away from home’ to the students. Every year desiring students are placed through “Campus Drive” carried out under the training and placement cell. College believes in imparting basic knowledge along with inculcation of soft skills. Different events related to curriculum, co- curricular and extracurricular are conducted for the overall development and welfare of the students. At SSR College of Pharmacy, the students are molded and trained to develop the values of competence, excellence and accountability. I am confident that SSR College of Pharmacy as a team will continue to demonstrate its abilities to strive for the best performance and excellence. Shri. Mohan S. Delkar Vice Chairman, SSR Memorial Trust, Sayli, Silvassa Message The SSR Memorial Trust was established with the noble cause of providing higher education to the native of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Due to the lack of higher education in the region of Silvassa, the like-minded individuals came together and took up an initiative to set up an education hub. The uniqueness of the campus is, it is located in the vicinity of industries, which renders ample opportunities to students for employment. Today, the SSR Memorial Trust is actively involved in providing quality education and raising the professional of next generation. It gives me an immense pleasure by sharing that the aim, with which the initiative was taken, is being diligently fulfilled by all the institutes within the campus. This year SSR College of pharmacy has made a notable achievement. Ms. Khadija Godal and Ms. Sonal Pandey, respectively have secured 4th and 7th position at the Savitribai Phule Pune University examination in 2018. This achievement has added one more feather to the cap in the institute. College has conducted many activities related to curriculum, co-curriculum and extra- curriculum for welfare of the students and pharma professionals of the society. Institute has received grants from Gujarat state Pharmacy council, Ahmedabad, DST-NIMAT, and Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune for conducting seminar and workshop. Many eminent professionals from academics, pharma industry and regulatory bodies were invited to provide an insight to the students and faculties. Institute had also carried out extension activities fofor bringing awareness within the society members. Institute has put an endless effort in making and maintaining professional relationship with the industry in the nearby area. They have successfully signed a MoU with an industry for carrying out collaborative training and developmental activities. Every year institute carries out Campus Drive and students seeking employment are placed through it. This year institute has invited Pharma Company for placement of final year B. Pharm and M. Pharm students through training and placement cell of the college. The team has successfully carried out placement of the seeking students through campus interview. We praise the students and the faculty members of the SSR College of Pharmacy for making such notable achievements and wish the team to achieve notable success in future. Shri. Abhinav M. Delkar in the name of his father Shri. Sanjibhai Rupjibhai Delkar. From then, it has a unique approach to serve the community with the vision of providing quality education. SSR College of Pharmacy is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, which is India’s 9th ranked best university as per NIRF ranking of 2017 by MHRD, Government of India. So, it is the great opportunity for the students of Dadra & Nagar Haveli to obtain best education in their region. Empowerment of young generation of Dadra & Nagar Haveli through education is the motto of the trust. Trust has always emphasized on overall development of students, not only by providing quality education but also by encouraging budding students for active participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. We pay attention to students’ academic success as well as socio-cultural achievements. As a part of co-curricular activity we arrange state level, national level seminar and workshops to enhance the knowledge of students. We also bring awareness in community by conducting different social activity like hygiene drive, career guidance and counseling. SSRCP provides excellent infrastructure and most importantly excellent team of highly qualified staff to provide quality education to students. We are also collaborated with the reputed pharmaceutical industries of D & NH and Vapi, so students can have industrial training and can also complete their research project in industry. Every year college successfully carries out placement activity through activities of training and placement cell. This year desiring students have already been placed through campus drive in pharma industry. I congratulate Ms. Khadija Godal and Ms. Sonal Pandey for making a notable achievement this year by securing top position along with gold medal at university level examination. I wish and hope that SSRCP faculty aims even higher to educate the students with the best practices, teach them to seize opportunity in life and to shape them into a responsible citizen of society. Shri.AAjit Deshpande (Managing Trustee) 3 Annual Progress Report 2018-19| SSR College of Pharmacy Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Public Relation OOfficer, SSR memorial trust, Sayli, Silvassa. Message A niche “Shri Sanjibhai Rupjibhai Memorial Trust” was carved out by Honorable Chairman Shri. Mohan S. Delkar in the name of his beloved Father Shri Sanjibhai Rupjibhai Delkar, when the utter need of promoting the higher education was felt in the tribal area of Silvassa, Dadra & Nagar Haveli. Silvassa, Capital city of Dadra & Nagar Haveli is considered to be an industrial hub as it has large number of factories and industries in its surrounding region. With increase in the growth of industrial area the demand for professionals, for smooth functioning was felt as a dire need of the region. The natives residing in the region voiced their need for lack of higher education. In light of the above mentioned facts, Shri. Mohan S. Delkar transformed the voice of the people into a reality by setting up a state of art campus in Silvassa. The trust ventured into the noble cause of imparting education to the native students in the year 2006 with establishment of SSR College of Arts, Commerce and Science followed by SSR College of Pharmacy, SSR College of Education and SSR Institute of Management and Research. With the aim to provide the best to the students it was decided to get the colleges affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University (erst University of Pune). Today Savitribai Phule Pune University is India’s 9th ranked university as per NIRF ranking of 2017 by MHRD, Government of India. The trust has won the repute because of its noble efforts and contribution for the cause of education. Today, SSR College of Pharmacy has emerged as a pioneering academic and research institute. This year SSR college of Pharmacy has carried out many activities related to curriculum, co-curriculum and extra-curriculum on huge platform. It neeeds a special mention that this year, Ms. Khadija Godal and Ms. Sonal Pandey, students of SSRCP have secured 4th and 7th rank at the university examination. Different activities conducted at the college are aimed at overall development and welfare of the students. In more than 12 seminars, workshops, guest lecture series and awareness program were conducted for the benefit of the students, the professionals of the Pharma industry and academics.
