TWO ISSUE #1 January 2015 Philemon Foundation VOL. TWO ISSUE #11 December 17, 2014 Dear Philemon Foundation supporter, The holiday season is once again upon us, and my colleagues and I are pleased to inform you that the work of the Foundation in 2014 has progressed in many exciting ways. We have Philemon volumes published, conferences and lectures planned, and new projects to announce! Our most recent news: All eight volumes of Jung’s ETH lectures have been accepted for publication by Princeton University Press. The unanimous vote of confidence we received from the editorial board at Princeton for this project in its entirety marks truly a momentous occasion for us as a foundation. The first volume nears completion at this time. [For more information, click here: http://philemonfoundation.org/current-projects/eth-lectures/] Also, we are excited to announce that the long-awaited Jung-Neumann Correspondence is now in final production and will be published in the Philemon Series this March 2015 by Princeton University Press. Please join us for the official launch of Analytical Psychology in Exile: The Correspondence of C. G. Jung and Erich Neumann, translated by Heather McCartney, with an important lecture by the editor, Philemon scholar Dr. Martin Liebscher, on May 23rd, 2015 at University College London. In 2008, the first of two volumes, Children’s Dreams: Notes from the Seminar Given in 1936-1940, was published in our Philemon Series. In 2014, the second volume, entitled Dream Interpretation Ancient and Modern: Notes from the Seminar in 1936-1940 by C.G. Jung, edited by John Peck, Lorenz Jung, and Maria Meyer-Grass, and translated by Ernst Falzeder with the collaboration of Tony Woolfson, was published by Princeton University Press. [For more information click here: http://philemonfoundation.org/published- works/childrens-dreams/] In addition, this year, Philemon scholar Marianne Jehle-Wildberger completed her project on Jung’s correspondence with the Swiss pastor and leading figure in the ecumenical movement, Adolf Keller. The relationship between Jung and Keller lasted for over fifty years during which time they had a lively correspondence concerning psychology and religion. The book has now been published in German by Theologischer Verlag, Zürich, under the title, C. G. Jung und Adolf Keller: Über Theologie und Psychologie: Briefe und Gespräche and will be published in English by Princeton University Press under the title, C. G. Jung and Adolf Keller: On Theology and Psychology: Correspondence and Conversations. [For more information click here: http://philemonfoundation.org/current-projects/c-g-jung-and-adolf- keller-a-conversation-between-psychology-and-theology/] Another Philemon project currently in production with Princeton University Press is Jung’s unpublished lecture on the French Romantic poet Gérard de Nerval. This volume, edited by Craig E Stephenson, will include Richard Sieburth’s award-winning translation of Nerval’s posthumous text Aurélia and Alfred Kubin’s famous illustrations to the 1910 Müller edition of Aurélia. [For more information, click here: http://philemonfoundation.org/current-projects/de-nerval/] There will be several conferences in the Spring of 2015 related to the scholarship conducted via the Philemon Foundation. The Philemon Series volume, The Question of Psychological Types: The Correspondence of C. G. Jung and Hans Schmid-Guisan, 1915-1916, will be celebrated in a special one-day conference on April 11, 2015, organized by the Jungian Psychoanalytic Association, New York, in conjunction with Philemon and co-sponsored by the IAAP. Both editors of the Jung-Schmid correspondence, John Beebe and Ernst Falzeder, as well as Philemon scholar Craig E Stephenson will be speaking. [For more information, click here: http://philemonfoundation.org/news/ ] On April 25th, Dr. Martin Liebscher will be presenting his work at The Jung-Neumann Letters: An International Conference in Celebration of a Creative Relationship.
