When it comes to looking great, women are always worried about their appearance. Other than fashion, lear- ning how to apply makeup is a must for women to look good and confident. By doing so, there are so many products that we need to know and the steps that we need to learn before and after applying makeup. Be- fore applying makeup, do apply skin care products first. It helps to protect our skin at least, from getting any sensitivity from using any make up products and avoid cracked result for those who have dry skin. After skin care, these are what you need to have for basic makeup: 1. Foundation – choose the one suit our neck rather than our face so it would blend better between the two. 2. Concealer – apply layer on T-Zone area, under eye and chin. 3. Eye Shadow Palette – for daily make up, use lighter shade or natural shade. 4. Eyeliner - Brush Tip or Sponge Tip. Different tip gives different result. Sponge tip tends to get thicker line. For beginners, I would recommend using sponge tip, easier to control to draw the line. 5. Eyelash Curler – No electric curler for beginner. 6. Mascara. 3 Do you know that concealer does play 2nd im- portant part in our makeup besides foundation? Concealer is color corrector that helps to cover our dark circle, freckles or age spot, visible pores and small blemishes that visible to our skin. Have you try Urban Decay Weightless Complete 7. Medium Light 8. Medium Dark Warm Warm Coverage Concealer? By far, in 2018, it is one of the best concealer to cover dark circles and left the skin around the eyes looking fresher. It is a medium/ high coverage concealer, not too greasy or dry, super lightweight and easy to blend with translucent powder over the top. There are 14 shades to choose: 9. Medium Dark 10. Dark Neutral Neutral 1. Fair Neutral 2. Fair Warm 11. Dark Golden 12. Dark Warm 3. Light Warm 4. Light Neutral 13. Deep Neutral 14. Extra Deep Neutral Choose the right tone to fit perfectly to our skin 5. Medium Light 6. Medium Neutral without looking too light or too dark. Try to know Neutral this wonderful product. 4 WHAT’S TREND Be Talented Fashionista! How much do we know about skin tight, crystal covered costumes? How much does it cost? Is it true when women hit a certain size, it is hard for them to get designer to do a nice dress for them to attend premiere or any red carpet event? Christian Siriano, who was the winner of Project Runway in 2008, stepped up to rescue Leslie Jones for her “Ghost Buster”, movie premiere. Because of that Leslie Jones dress made the headline in the media. Christian Siriano desig- ned the simplest red dress that spoke the most volume for her than wearing a big gown at the premier. She looked gorgeous in that red dress. He even dressed the biggest stars like Michelle Obama, Celine Dion, Julianne Moore and Oprah Winfrey. Celine Dion loves the dress that he designed; it looked sexy even though she was fully covered at “Beauty and the Beast” premiere. 9 Taylor Swift wore his first collection on her “Won- derstruck Fragrance Campaign”. Today’s digital age creates many opportunities for tech-savvy visionaries and entrepreneurs. One of the long-known innovations is cryptocurrency such as the notorious BitCoin, Ethereum, and X-Coin. Cryptocurrency is apparently more secure. Its strength lies in encryption and blockchain technology which comes in the form of Coins or Tokens. Cryptocurrency comes to play in many aspects of life today. Nowadays, it is a valuable investment, a developing trend that can be used to buy real, physical, hard assets such as Real Estate. We recently interview one of the Co-Founders of REIDAO, Mr. Hendrik Tanjaya Tan. What is REIDAO and what does it do? “REIDAO is a Singapore company operating under Singapore’s Corporate & Tax Laws & Regulations. It offers REI Token, which is based on Ethereum Blockchain and can be used to invest in Crowdvilla, a Real Estate project initiati- ve by the company. Crowdvilla itself is based on sharing economy in which it gives REI Token holders a stake in Real Estate in various parts of the world. Crowdvilla aims to have access to real estate in major tourists’ destinations globally. Indirectly, the community own the assets and they have the right to utilise the assets wherever they are. It also removes middleman which usually associated with profits, hence providing better value for the community”. What is the mission of the company? 12 “The mission of the company is to create digital “just try it out, and refine along the way. Most of us would like to have a piece of real estate, but more often than not, we don’t have that access or resources to achieve it. We are trying to address this”. What made you choose this type of business? What motivate you? “This is one industry, where everyone involves in one way or another. With the advancement of technology, many people can come together as community to have access to a pool of assets. This will change the paradigm on how we view real estate”. Who has been your greatest inspiration? “Internally, my family. They have been very sup- portive and inspire me to do better. Externally, Sir Alex Ferguson who was in Man- chester United hotseat for more than 25 years.

  • Michelle Kwan
Michelle Kwan The most decorated figure skater in U.S. history, Michelle Kwan's skating brilliance and accomplishments have earned her a place among the all-time greats of the sport. For over a decade (1995-2005) Michelle dominated the sport like no other skater in history, winning an unprecedented 43 championships, including five World Championships, eight consecutive and nine overall U.S. National Championships and two Olympic medals. Most recently, Michelle was elected to the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame Class of 2012 as well as the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame as the only member of the Class of 2012. In the nearly 100-year history of U.S. figure skating, no American man or woman has won more world titles, national titles or Olympic medals. Michelle's activities off the ice have been equally noteworthy. In November 2006, the U.S. Secretary of State appointed Michelle as the first U.S. Public Diplomacy Envoy. In this capacity Michelle travels the world and meets with young people to speak about leadership and to engage them in dialogue on social and educational issues. In June 2010, President Obama appointed Michelle to the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition, a group that advises the President on ways to engage, empower and educate all Americans to lead active, healthy lifestyles. In December 2010, Michelle was elected to the Board of Directors of Special Olympics International, the organization's ultimate governing authority responsible for global affairs and strategies. Michelle graduated from the University of Denver in November 2008 with a degree in International Studies.

Council of Fashion Designers of America ANNUAL REPORT 2017 The mission of the Council of Fashion Designers of America is to strengthen the impact of American fashion in the global economy. B 1 Letter from the Chairwoman, Diane von Furstenberg, and the President and Chief Executive Officer, Steven Kolb In fashion, we respond to the world we live in, a point that was powerfully driven home in 2017. We were excited to see talents with broad cultural backgrounds and political ideas begin to express their experiences and beliefs through their collections. Diversity moved into the spotlight in ways we have never seen before. Designers embraced new approaches to business, from varying show formats to disruptive delivery cycles. It was also the year to make your voices heard, and CFDA listened. We engaged in civic initiatives important to our industry and partnered with Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, and FWD.us. We also relaunched our CFDA Health Initiative with guidelines to help those impacted by sexual assault or other forms of abuse. There’s no going back. In 2018, CFDA is moving ahead at full speed with an increased focus on inclusivity and women in fashion, the latter through an exciting new study with Glamour magazine. We may be a reflection of the world we live in, but we also work hard to make that world a better place.
