We are excited to welcome you to the 2020 TOYOTA U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina. It is exciting to return to Greensboro for the first time since 2015 and for the third time in the past decade. We have made great memories here and look forward to creating more. Over the next six days, the top skaters in the United States will compete for titles in ladies, men’s, pairs and ice dance at the junior and championship levels. All of these athletes have accomplished so much just by qualifying to be here and their hard work does not go unnoticed. We wish all of the competitors the best as they strive to stand atop the podium in Greensboro. We are excited to select our World and Four Continents teams and continue the process of choosing our World Junior team here in the Tar Heel State. These top athletes will continue to represent the United States in prestigious international competitions throughout the spring. We are also thrilled to host the inaugural National High Performance Development Camp in Indian Trail, North Carolina, at the conclusion of the competition. At this three-day camp, the top juvenile, intermediate and novice skaters from across the country will receive on- and off-ice instruction, attend educational classes and participate in competition simulations. Before the camp, these stars of tomorrow will have an opportunity to watch their senior-level counterparts compete in Greensboro. Millions of fans from around the United States will be able to watch our athletes compete live on NBC, NBCSN and NBC Sports Gold. This event would not be possible without support from all of our partners. We are so appreciative of the local community for their unparalleled support and Southern hospitality. I especially want to thank all of our local figure skating clubs and the volunteers for the many hours they have given to help make the 2020 U.S. Championships a huge success. U.S. Figure Skating is proud to be the national governing body for the sport of figure skating in the United States, and we will continue our commitment to make figure skating a sport to be enjoyed by all. I hope everyone enjoys this year’s competition and we wish good luck to all of the athletes competing.
