I wrote this while on retreat during Holy Week. I peeked into Divine Mercy Sunday. Every Sunday is like a retreat and resting with our Awesome God. Hope your Easter is joyful and filled with awe and wonder. Love, joy peace, Father Ron + Tuesday of Holy Week ~ 30 March 2021 Very Early Before Dawn On retreat… struggling, but not Struggling, wrestling to unfathom the knots; the knots of confusion and reactive emotions, explosions. God is real God is now the kingdom has come on earth as it is in heaven The world is searching for solutions within the storms of all the worlds emotions but the roots of solutions lie in the dear earth and mud… to spring rising untangled rootedness, the source and creative force far more flowing than clogged arteries and heart attack… set free to flow with piercing thorns, nails and lashes… eye see… water and blood… gushing from the side… … Divine Mercy!!! o my…soulitude. Easter Monday 2021 ~ 30th Time as a Priest A morning of love Beloved Souls who came into the church during pandemic Participated for the first time Holy Thursday Good Friday Easter Vigil & Sunday! Chrism Mass with my brother priests and bishop at the Cathedral Holy Thursday gathering of priests for lamb dinner at Anastasia Good Friday ecumenical at St. Mark’s Episcopal, in the prison, Formal Way of the Cross around St. Monica, walks in the Ravine State Gardens… Exquisite liturgies of music, reverence, color, starkness and beauty Life is way too short to be crabby and whiney Every once in a while, crabby and whiney helps prune us… otherwise…Lord have Mercy! Lent was marvelous this year…at least for me…almost refreshing As we cleared the overgrowth and prickly invasive moods and behaviors. We are reconstructing like Notre Dame in Paris after the fire…inside & out. So awesome to see the faithful people return for Holy Week… and Easter Sonrise… I am not their friends (although many are my friends) I am their father… hopefully loving, kind, disciplined in proportion & for- giving… I am I am in love with God and all the world with Jesus by my side and within my Body & Blood We trust the God who created us to… Heal… our broken humble hearts… together, forever Let the adventure begin! Joy in the journey… Divine Mercy… Amen! “The word is near you, on your lips and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach).” ~ Paul to the Romans 10:8 At the empty tomb, we all experience fear, faith, confusion & understanding (but not yet) You brought confusion to the guards at your tomb, but joy to your disciples. Grant the fullness of joy to all who serve you. St. Faustina Kowalska was a young Polish nun, who in 1931 began to have visits from Jesus that lasted for four years. During that time, she wrote down his words, her visions, and her own thoughts and prayers in a diary. Jesus asked her to spread the message of his mercy to the world. The Diary of St. Faustina, the famous Divine Mercy picture inspired by Jesus, and the Divine Mercy Chaplet are all ways that the Divine Mercy has become known throughout the world. Jesus asked that there would be a Feast of the Divine Mercy that would be preceded by a novena that would begin on Good Friday. The Divine Mercy Chaplet, which is prayed on a rosary, can be prayed at any time, but is often prayed at 3:00 p.m., the Holy Hour of Jesus’s death. Divine Mercy Chaplet prayer cards can be found in the Adult Formation Centers at the entrances of the church. Rosaries are also available if you need one. Today, the Sunday after Easter, is Divine Mercy Sunday. Please join us following the 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and the 9:00 AM Mass on Sunday in the church to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet together. In these perilous times, and at all times, we should implore God’s mercy. He is Love and Mercy itself. Don’t forget to use our code R87GP3 BECOMING CATHOLIC is a lifelong journey. Long after receiving your Sacraments of Initiation, there is always more to experience as we walk with Christ. There is always immense joy when an individual chooses to approach the table of the Lord for the first time. We all welcome those that wish to join our church, and together we show what it means to be Christian, to be Catholic. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the journey of BECOMING CATHOLIC looks a little different this year. We are going to begin virtually and progress to in person as we can. If you are reading this and are not already Catholic, Please Come On In! We would love to welcome you! Reach out to me at [email protected] or call the parish office. If you are Catholic and would like to help welcome the seekers, reach out! Each new person needs a sponsor (think Godparents for Adults) to walk with them. It is difficult to pair up like-minded folks that would ‘click’ when we cannot hang out together, so the more volunteers the better! Since this will include virtual elements, we will be utilizing on-line resources such as Formed.org ( Parish Subscription!!) and other such sites. From time to time, I will be sharing the links that BECOMING CATHOLIC is viewing that week. We are starting with a conversation about Scripture and watching https:// watch.formed.org/symbolon-the-catholic-faith-explained/season:1/videos/the-bible-god-s-love-letter-to- humanity. I encourage each of you to explore these materials as ‘refreshers’ on you own life long Catholic journey. Prayerfully, Cheryl M ST. MONICA RELIGIOUS Did you take our Spring Challenge?
