Marked Nature Trails Enjoy our marked walking trails, ranging from a leisurely one hour afternoon stroll through the woodlands, to a more demand­ ing three hour trek up the surrounding hills and through the local Aloe Route. The area is rich in indigenous tree species and also has an abundant birdlife, perfect for those interested in bird watching.

Swimming Pool, Children’s Playground and Outdoor Games The Lodge boasts a large crystal clear swimming pool with an attached children’s paddling pool, ideal for those hot sultry days. It is surrounded by a spacious seating area.

Mountain and Road Biking Don’t forget your bikes when you plan a stay with us. We have four established mountain and road bike routes around the area on both dirt and tar roads. The distances range from 10 – 65 kms and the scenic trails cross both the and Odzi Rivers, offering spectacular views of the Miombo woodlands and the Nyanga granite ramparts.

Farm Visit and Game Drive Well worth a trip, Suncrest Farm has a lot to offer. Take the opportunity to find out how tobacco is grown and cured, get an impression of the winery or stroll around the maize field with a knowledgeable guide or even the owner. To round off your trip, go on a guided game drive in the adjacent Chikun­ du Game Park, which is part of Suncrest Farm. If you fancy a leisurely afternoon drive with the chance to spot some local plains game and a sundowner with stunning views of the Nyanga Mountains, this is a highly recommended visit.

Osborne Dam Visit the dam, a mere 45 minutes drive away from the Lodge (tar and gravel), for a day’s bass fishing, a drive through Osborne Dam Recreational Park and a leisurely family picnic. Picnic baskets can be provided by the Lodge on request. Further places of interest

Golfing Horse Riding and Hiking Golfing enthusiasts should try the Mutare Horse riding is available at both Troutbeck and Leopard Hillside Golf Club with its picturesque eight­ Rock and is a firm family favourite. The well-maintained een hole course, Bvumba’s internationally botanical gardens in Bvumba provide the perfect picnic renowned Leopard Rock Golf Course or the setting. The prehistoric pit structures in are a fascinating feature as is the trip into the past awaiting you at the rock art sites, such as the 2.000yr old paintings at Diana’s Vow.

Kayaking und Birding Eastern is blessed with beautiful mountains and rivers, making this an ideal location for rafting. Half and full day excursions are offered on the mighty , which plunges thousands of feet down into the Honde Val­ ley, a birder’s paradise.
