Car Parking

There are around 1000 free parking spaces at the Cobalt Business Exchange with electric car charging points and disabled spaces closer to the entrance. Please notify the reception staff of your registration number on arrival as the car park is regularly patrolled for unauthorised parking.

Getting here by car

The business park is adjacent to the A19 motorway with access from the A1, A1058 and two major junctions with local roads.

• From the north Travel south on the A1, take the exit signposted A19 Tyne Tunnel. Continue south towards Tyne Tunnel along A19, exit A19 at Holystone Roundabout. Take the 2nd exit signposted Cobalt Park and Whitley Bay Centre. At roundabout take the 2nd exit straight ahead, at next roundabout take the 2nd exit into Cobalt Park. Continue south into Cobalt Park and at roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Cobalt Park Way. At the 2nd roundabout (facing the Garage) take the 3rd exit, driving behind the garage where you will see our car park in front of the silver Cobalt building.

• From the south Travel north on A1 (M) or A19 towards Tyne Tunnel. Go through the Tyne Tunnel (note a toll fee is payable) and on exit head north on A19. Take the 3rd exit north signposted to Silverlink. Continue straight ahead passing the Silverlink Retail Park and over a mini roundabout. At the roundabout on Middle Engine Lane take the 2nd exit onto Cobalt Park Way then the 2nd exit at the next roundabout, driving behind the Aston Martin garage where you will see our car park in front of the silver Cobalt building.

Bus

Around 1000 bus journeys connect the park on a daily basis, connecting to over 40 key destinations throughout the region. Newcastle direct express services include X9, X58 & X39, with buses on the Cobalt Clipper 309 also providing free Wi-Fi to all travellers. On average there is a bus every 7-8 minutes travelling from Newcastle to Cobalt.

Service 19 connects both legs of the Metro at Northumberland Park Interchange to the North, with a link at Percy Main Metro station also, to the South of the area. This bus service also meets every Ferry after visiting Percy Main.

Other services that run direct through the park connect Gateshead, Ashington, , , Whitley Bay, North Shields, Cramlington, Ashington, Killingworth, Monkseaton, and many more locations directly to Cobalt.

Bus stops for both north and southbound are located a short 3 minute walk from the office, on Cobalt Park Way.

Rail

With direct links to the major UK cities along the East Coast mainline Newcastle Central Station offers a multitude of rail links, the Metro station located within Central Station ensures that links to Cobalt are seamless. Take the Metro from platform 2 to Northumberland Park Interchange from which you can connect to the 19 bus service direct to Cobalt Park.

Metro

The Metro network consists of 60 stations providing transport links across . The transport interchanges at Northumberland Park and Percy Main provide connections to the 19 bus service facilitating direct links to Cobalt Park. Metros run approximately every 10-12 minutes throughout the day.

Air

Newcastle International is the region’s closest airport. There is a Metro station located within the terminal which runs a green line service. Take the Metro to South Gosforth, then switch to Platform 2 and catch a yellow line service for trains towards the coast and leave at Northumberland Park station where the route 19 bus service will take you the remaining 3 minute journey to Cobalt.
