A public awareness campaign is currently running to let people know what to do if they are worried about their own or another adult‟s welfare. For the last two years there have been over 1400 alerts to the Safeguarding Team resulting in over 800 assessments each year. The most common type of alert is for physical abuse with neglect being the next highest. Together they represent 42 per cent of victims between 18 and 64, and 49 per cent over the age of 75. Abuse can happen everywhere, in the Princes Risborough area between April 2010 and March 2011 there were 31 referrals. Safeguarding is everybody‟s business, if you suspect, witness or believe you are a victim of abuse then speak up and phone the Careline 0800 137 915. Or visit www.bsvab.org for more information. All calls are confidential. On Thursday 16th June, between 10am – 12 pm, the PRNPT will be conducting a “Have Your Say” event in the High Street, Princes Risborough with a representative from Adult Social Care. Parking: The local police in Princes Risborough are currently investigating a parking dispute in PICTS LANE, which has now become a criminal investigation after person/s unknown have taken matters into their own hands and scattered a large quantity of 3 inch nails and 1 inch screws (approximately 1 - 1 ½ kilos worth) over various grass verges and hard standings. The police believe that the actions of the individual/s responsible, is not only an attempt to prevent people parking on these areas but also to deliberately damage vehicles. The nails and screws have also found their way onto the main road and are causing a danger to innocent roads uses, which includes pedestrians, cyclists and animals. A vehicle was also targeted and had an item placed into one of the tyres valves, which deflated the owner‟s tyre as they drove home to Aylesbury. Thankfully the tyre didn't burst during the journey and cause an accident. Local residents may be annoyed by outsiders parking in roads where they live but by taking matters into their own hands they are putting people's lives at risk and face arrest and prosecution. If anyone has any information which will help the police to identify the person responsible for this matter, then please get in touch via the police non emergency number 101, or call the Crime Stoppers number on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous. http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/news/crime/9709231.Nails_scattered_on_grass_verges_in_parking_dispute/ Anti Social Behaviour (ASB): # - The PRNPT have received a number of complaints regarding ASB on Kings George V Park, Princes Risborough.
