It is great to be able to write these notes on the back of two very good wins for us. The feeling when my head hit the back of the Alfreton net last Tuesday was indescribable and it capped one of the best comebacks I have certainly been involved in during my time playing football. We made a horrendous start that game and credit to all of the lads that we had the determination and belief that we could turn it round. The gaffer obviously also has to take huge credit for this along with Nayls, Chris and Tim.

It was a fantastic feeling to return to the dressing room having won that game and hopefully those of you who were able to watch us up at Curzon Ashton last Saturday will have seen the confidence that gave us as we recorded our first away win of the season in some style.

Sam Osborne has played a huge part in both of those wins and he is really starting to show what he is capable of now. What we weren’t expecting however was for Jack Lane to spank in a goal of the season contender from 25 yards to seal the victory at Curzon! It was great to also see Lance Smith get off the mark last Tuesday - The first of many goals for him in the gold and black no doubt. The new lads are all settling in nicely now and getting used to playing in the National League North. We enjoyed their initiation songs on the coach home last Saturday!

I’ve been told that myself and James Mace are the only two players remaining from our last encounter against Fylde. It turned out to be a hugely frustrating afternoon given the way we started that game, and it would be nice to put that right this evening and continue our mini unbeaten run but we are under no illusions how difficult that will be against full-time side who are gunning for an immediate return to the National League. One thing you can be sure of is that we will be doing our best to give us support something to cheer once more.
