Goalkeeper Chris Neal represented both The Ammies and Port Vale at earlier stages in his career, winning promotions at both The Peninsula Adam Rooney Stadium and Vale Park.

The 35-year-old, who started his playing career Louis Dodds with Preston North End, made over 120 league appearances for Vale, winning promotion from Chris Birchall League Two in 2012-13. Sam Morsy He then spent two years at Fleetwood Town in League One before joining Salford in 2018 in the National League.
