    KOPENHAGEN ZELENA PRESTOLNICA EVROPE 2014 DANSKA MAJ 2015 Dansko kraljestvo (krajše le Danska) je najstarejša in najmanjša nor- dijska drža- va, ki se nahaja v Skandinaviji v severni Evropi na polotoku vzhodno od Baltske- ga morja in jugozahodno od Severne- ga morja. Vključuje tudi številne otoke severno od Nemčije, na katero meji tudi po kopnem, in Poljske, poleg teh pa še ozemlja na Grenlandiji in Fer- skih otokih, ki so združena pod dansko krono, če- prav uživajo samou- pravo. Le četrtina teh otokov je naseljena. Danska je iz- razito položna dežela. Najvišji vrh je Ejer Bavnehoj, z 173 metri nadmorske višine. Največja reka je Gudena. zanimivosti: - Danska je mati Lego kock. Njihova zgodba se je začela leta 1932 in v več kot 60. letih so prodali čez 320 bilijonov kock, kar pomeni povprečno 56 kock na vsakega prebivalca na svetu. Zabaviščni park Legoland se nahaja v mestu Bil- lund, kjer so zgrajene različne fingure in modeli iz več kot 25 milijonov lego kock. - Danska je najpomembnejša ribiška država v EU. Ribiško ladjevje šteje prib- ližno 2700 ladij.     Semper Ardens: Facaden af Hack Kampmanns bygning til Glyptotekets antikke samling af Jan Stubbe Østergaard Gorm Tortzen har altid benyttet Glyptoteket i sin undervisning og har været et aktiv for museet på mange andre måder. Dette bidrag til festen er derfor ikke kun en hilsen fra forfat- teren, men fra Glyptoteket, og, i særdeleshed, fra den antikke samling. Hensigten med denne artikel er ikke alene at fejre, og forhåbentlig underholde, fødselaren. Jeg håber nemlig også at imødekomme et behov i undervisningen for en lidt nærmere forklaring af, hvad der egentlig foregår på Hack Kampmanns facade, i det store og i detaljen. Med en sådan forklaring ved hånden vil flere lærere måske have lyst og grund til at tage eleverne med om til museets ‘bagside’. Så vil det hurtigt stå klart, at der slet ikke er tale om en bagside, men om endnu en forside: Glyptoteket er nemlig arkitektonisk set to-hovedet som et Janus-hoved, med to ansigter, hvert med et udtryk svarende til den samling, der findes indeni. Baggrund I 1888 forærede Carl og Ottilia Jacobsen deres samling af fransk og dansk skulptur til danskerne. Til gengæld skulle de officielle modtagere, Staten og Københavns Kommune, stille en centralt beliggende grund til rådighed for en bygning til kunstværkerne og bidrage økonomisk til bygningens opførelse. Grundstykket ud til Vester Boulevard huede ikke Jacobsen, for det lå “noget afsides; Naboskabet til det mig ret plebeiiske Tivoli var heller ikke videre tiltalende …”. Til gengæld valgte han selv arkitekten Vilhelm Dahlerup (1836–1907), på den tid ligeså ‘hot’ et navn som Henning Larsen i vore dage: Han tegnede blandt andet Det kongelige Teater, Statens Museum for Kunst, Hotel d’Angleterre, Pantomimeteatret, Søpavillonen – og Dronning Lou- ises Bro.

    VESTERBRO / KONGENS ENGHAVE Vesterbro var oprindelig navnet på den brolagte landevej, som førte ud ad hovedsta- den vestpå gennem Vesterport, der lå, hvor Rådhuspladsen ligger i dag. Fulgte man denne landevej, kom man ud i et landligt område med marker og meget lidt bebyg- gelse. Sådan så Vesterbro ud, indtil Københavns voldanlæg blev nedlagt i 1867, og byen fik vokseværk og bredte sig. Ligesom på Nørrebro blev etagebyggeriet opført for at huse de mange tilflyttende arbejdere i takt med industrialiseringen. Husene lå tæt og trangt med slum og fat- tigdom i overflod. Vesterbro blev også hurtigt kendt som et forlystelseskvarter med kroer, prostitution og andre fristelser, hvilket bidrog til områdets blakkede ry. Vesterbro var i mange år centrum for handel med kvæg og kød. Den Brune Kødby blev opført i 1878, og kvægtorvet strakte sig helt ned til den daværende Gasværkshavn (i dag Kalvebod Brygge) og rummede kostalde, fårefolde og salgshaller. Området blev renoveret omkring århundredeskiftet og fik en ny salgshal, Øksnehallen, og nye kalve- og fårefolde. Både Den Brune Kødby og Den Hvide Kødby (sidstnævnte opført i 1931-1934) rummer i dag en blanding af restauranter, natklubber og gallerier og blev i 2007 udpeget som nationalt industriminde af Kulturarvsstyrelsen. Med DGI-byen fra 1999 har det indre Vesterbro desuden fået et stort idrætscenter med mange alsidige tilbud. I 1960’erne blev Vesterbro befolket af indvandrere fra Pakistan og Tyrkiet, som den dag i dag påvirker bydelen med deres mange etniske butikker, indvandrerklubber og andre multietniske indslag. I 1990’erne påbegyndte Københavns Kommune en omfattende byfornyelse af området. Overalt på det indre Vesterbro har nyrenoverede ejerlejligheder skruet ejendomspriserne op i nye højder og tiltrukket et nyt publikum.
