  • Volo's Guide to the North
Volos Guide to the North Wind by the Fireside So as you shiver in the cold and the dark, Look into the fire and see in its spark My eye Watching over you. As you walk in the winds whistling claws. Listen past the howling of the wolfs jaws. My song Comes to you. And when youre lost in trackless snow, Look up high where the eagles go. My star Shines for you. In deep, dark mine or on crumbling peak, Hear the words of love I speak. My thoughts Are with you. You are not forsaken. You are not forgotten. The North cannot swallow you. The snows cannot bury you. I will come for you. Faerûn will grow warmer, And the gods will smile But oh, my love, guard yourself well All this may not happen for a long, long while. These things also I have observed: that knowledge of our world is to be nurtured like a precious flower, for it is the most precious thing we have. We reached the central chamber. were all eager to see what he’d do, and I couldn’t wait to play The place was huge, with a raised platform in the center. my own characters, a min-maxed high elf fighter/magic-user The walls were covered in black flock, and the floor was tiled named Windrhymer the White and an even more min-maxed with some weird glowing material that changed patterns. fighter/magic-user/thief half-drow named Ralph the Rogue. When Greg pointed out the spinning mirror-balls on the ceiling (Yes, I’m still embarrassed about it all.) All we knew for sure we became nervous. When he described the huge black was that Greg had drawn all over a ream and a half of graph dragon wearing the white leisure suit, dancing upon the high paper. He called the dungeon “The Halls of Amusement.” platform; we realized he had gone way too far. My elves had pals, naturally. Tom played a pair of fighters “The Disco Dragon!” someone cried. We fell over each other named Harry and Burt, or something equally English. Someone to kill the beast, not so much for fear of our lives, but because else was stuck with the cleric and another character. While the even at that age we realized that a reptilian John Travolta was PCs didn’t find a lasting place in my memory, certain moments an abomination that must be destroyed.

FREE ELMINSTER MUST DIE: THE SAGE OF SHADOWDALE PDF Ed Greenwood | 400 pages | 06 Jul 2011 | Wizards of the Coast | 9780786957996 | English | United States Elminster Must Die – Forgotten Realms Wiki Many of his characters were created all those aeons ago in the far flung 20th century. OK, so it's not all that far off, but this is his world and these are his characters. Elminster Aumar being one of the most memorable of them all. Elminster, a grey old Gandalf character, was the chosen of Mystra the goddess of magic. With the advent of the Spellplague, for those of us in the real world, more or less, that would be the. The rules of magic have changed. Mystra was murdered by her long time rival, Cyric. As a result magic went wild and devoured some and chewed and spit out others. The ravages of the Spellplague have left Elminster Must Die: The Sage of Shadowdale unable to use magic without losing his mind, and his lover Elminster Must Die: The Sage of Shadowdale Simbul is mad unless she consumes enchanted items, and her periods of lucidity are getting shorter. Weak and Elminster Must Die: The Sage of Shadowdale and less able to cast magic than ever before Elminster hunts magical items to keep his lover sane, until coming to the realization that enough sufficiently powerful items could cure the magical malady that afflicts the former Witch Queen of Aglarond. Of course an old enemy seeks to destroy 'El' and take over the world, as is the way of all evil overlords.
