Diagnostic Notes Adult body length c. 2.5 mm long;both pronotum and abdomenglobular, theabdomentwice as wide as the pronotum; body colour is pale or dark brown,densely clothed above and beneath with pale yellowish-brown scales that are irregularly dispersed with darker brown on the elytra, and with a small, elongate, blackish- brown spot on each side of the suture at the base of the elytra (elytral vestiture, which consists of very dense golden and patches of brown to black recumbent setae and erect golden or brown ones, unequal in length and arranged in longitudinal rows). The pronotum has noscales but has a dense mat of interlacing hairs. Males have a tuft of erect setae on the middle of the metasternum. Females have no such tuft of setae. Can be confused with Niptus hololeucus but can be distinguish by: Trigonogenius globulus has a hind femur stout with apical one third expanded, elytra and pronotum covered with gray and brown adpressed hair;Niptus hololeucus has a hind femur slenderwith apical one third expanded, elytra and pronotum covered with goldenadpressed hair.
