#Of Project: 76

This expo included seventy-six scientific projects from five Universities based in Duhok Governorate. The theme of the projects were almost renewable energy, smart technology, architecture, roads and bridges.

What Is the Expo About? The expo was about combining the efforts of all the Universities rather than competing and choosing the best projects. Therefore, there was no award presented to the best projects. The event was an opportunity to develop students’ scientific knowledge and Improving the society’s technological level. Being together in a public area was a step for encouraging students for commercial and real world businesses and motivating rivalry between universities Having the Universities and scientific projects in one side and the general directorates of Duhok local authority in one location was a great opportunity to fill the gaps. There are many requirements in the Administration system that might be fill be local resources. for example: The general manager of traffic police met two young students who developed database for traffic system. Both sides agreed on cooperation.

The general manager of Agriculture met with three groups of student who developed agricultural projects, again both sides agreed on cooperation as well.

Learning Outcomes Depending on local efforts is the best choice for the economic crises. We agree that most of the projects were not innovation but we realise that the first step of innovation starts by coping then the copy is improved, developed. Then innovation might be created. Having our youth developing these simple projects is the first step for new era. Having our government depend on youth efforts rather than importing might be the start for manufacturing in the country, this reflects the development component of UNDP objective.
