Midge Ure & Band Electronica
Pressemitteilung vom 31.08.2020 Midge Ure & Band Electronica Live in Concert 2021 – brandneue Show! MIDGE URE & BAND ELECTRONICA Live in Concert 2021 mit NEUER Show! -

The book is not a history of the BTO, but many of the Trust's achievements helped fashion the development and direction of ornithology over the decades, and major aspects of the Trust's work rightly have detailed treatment. The book ranges widely, it looks at the changing bird as well as the changing birdwatcher and records the work of related conservation bodies, it considers the future and the past and includes an extensive section of useful facts and figures, whilst never losing sight of the central theme which is the book's title. 296 pages, 72 line illustrations, £13.00 net T&ADPOYSER Tell me Mr. Frank ... Manual of Modern Scots
MANUAL OF MODERN SCOTS ' BY WILLIAM GRANT, M.A. (Aberdeen) LECTURER ON PHONETICS IN ABERDEEN TRAINING CENTRE LECTURER (1916—1920) ON THE HISTORY OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN ABERDEEN UNIVERSITY CONVENER OF THE SCOTTISH DIALECTS COMMITTEE AND JAMES MAIN DIXON, Litt.Hum.D. M.A. St Andrews University FELLOW OF THE ROYAL SOCIETY OF EDINBURGH PROFESSOR OF COMPARATIVE LITERATURE IN THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CAMBRIDGE AT THE UNIVERSITY PRESS 1921 PREFACE rpHE idea of this work first occurred to one of the authors^ J- Dr Main Dixon, in the course of his experience in lecturing on Scottish Literature to his students in the University of Southern California. He felt the need of a book to which he could refer them for details of Scottish Grammar and Pronuncia- tion, which he could employ, in class, for the recitation of our literary masterpieces, and which the students themselves, after they left the University, could use either for purposes of declama- tion or teaching. The book is divided into three parts. Part I describes the sounds of Modem Scots with examples of their use written in the alphabet of the International Phonetic Association. Part II contrasts Scots Grammar with Standard English usage and gives copious illustrations from Modern Scottish Literature. Part III consists of a series of extracts from Modern Scots writers and a selection of ballads and songs with phonetic transcriptions. Most of these transcriptions are in Standard Scottish Speech (see Introduction, p. xxi); Extracts XII A, XIII A, XVI A, XVII A, IX B, XIV B, may be described as Standard Scottish with local colour; Extracts VII A, XIV A, XX A, XXII A, XXIV A, are intended to represent the exact speech of definite sub-dialects. -
Midge Ure Biography
MIDGE URE BIOGRAPHY An artist who has received Ivor Novello, Grammy, BASCAP awards along with a flotilla of gold and platinum records, really needs very little introduction. Musical success is seldom measured in time spans of more than a few years, if not Andy Warhol's often quoted "fifteen minutes", so the fact that by the time Midge's single "If I Was" went to number 1 in 1985 he had already crammed several musical lifetimes into a 10 year professional career speaks volumes - Slik, The Rich Kids, Thin Lizzy, Visage, Ultravox and of course the most famous one off group in musical history Band Aid had by then all had the guiding hand of his musical navigation. Then you have to take account of Midge's musical directorship of a series of rock concerts for The Prince's Trust, Night of the Proms, Wicked Women for Breakthrough and in honour of Nelson Mandela; record production for Phil Lynott, Steve Harley and countless others; his video direction of memorable hits by the Fun Boy Three, Bananarama and others, or a whole swathe of landmark singles by Ultravox; TV, theatre and film music credits ranging from 'Max Headroom' to stage and big screen. Midge appeared to the wider public in a moment of heady teen success with Slik. Their sway-along single 'Forever And Ever' took over at No.1 in the UK from Abba's 'Mamma Mia' on Valentine's Day 1976. Soon outgrowing Slik's pop dimensions, Midge was snapped up by ex-Sex Pistol Glen Matlock the following year for his new outfit, the Rich Kids, who charted amid an avalanche of press with a self-titled EMI single early in 1978. -

SEEING the BIG PICTURE Auclio-VISWU Techniques for Interpreters
SEEING THE BIG PICTURE Auclio-VISWU Techniques for Interpreters By Mark E. Hundhammer Michael Gross and Ronald Zimmerman, Editors UW-SP FOUNDATION PRESS, INC. UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN STEVENS POINT STEVENS POINT, WI 54481 Approved by the Graduate Committee of: Professor of Environmental Interpretation Professor of Environmental Education r. Ron Zimmerman rector of Schmeeckle Reserve Preface This manual is for natural resource_ professionals interested in developing audio-visual programs. It will provide useful information to everybody who wishes to use audio-visual programs to enhance their interpretive efforts. As the challenges of resource management became increasingly demanding, it is imperative that interpreters have the ability to communicate with the public not only the intrigue of the natural world, but the responsibilities of good land stewardship as well. The more interpretive skills you have to share your knowledge of and enthusiasm for the environment with others, the greater our quality ofliving will become. Professionally prepared audio-visual programs can inspire the general public to take a deeper interest in the environment. The manual is organized to allow readers to select part or all of a chapter to meet their audio-visual program needs. The first chapter reminds us that most people learn best when many senses are involved, especially seeing and hearing. Chapter 2 provides a framework for planning audio-visual programs. This serves as a basis for all the other chapters. Chapters 3 - 6 detail how to produce an illustrated talk, an automated slide-sound program, a video, and how to use computers to enhance your interpretive efforts. The methods presented are geared primarily toward those with limited budgets who will produce "in-house" audio-visual programs. -
