Kish Island – the Venue
Kish is a 91.5-square-kilometre (35.3 sq mi) resort island in Bandar Lengeh County, Hor- mozgān Province off the southern coast of Iran in the Persian Gulf. Owing to its free trade zone status, the island is touted as a consumer’s paradise, with numerous malls, shopping centres, tourist attractions, and resort hotels. It has an estimated population of slightly more than 40,000 residents and about 1 million visitors annually. Kish Island is one of the most-visited vacation destinations in Southwest Asia. Tourists from many countries who wish to enter Kish Free Zone, are exempt from having to obtain a visa. Kish Free Zone has been turned into a gateway to Iran’s economy. Kish economy has encom- passed a wide range of economic compositions in the country. Among the most important fields of Kish economy, one can find business interactions, tourism, industrial production and investments in the services sector. Like other Iranian Free Zones, Kish Island proposes incentives for foreign investment, including tax breaks, simplified procedures for exports and imports and the possibility of one hundred percent foreign ownership which is not avail- able on the mainland, is a valuable destination for the presence of investors and economic activists.

KishINVEX® 2019 was the 11th Exhibition on Presenting Iran’s Investment Opportunities and the 6th International taking place from 18th – 21st of November 2019 in Kish International Ex- hibition Center and Kish International Convention Center on Kish Island, IRAN. KishINVEX® 2019 was held with the support and participation of the Supreme Council of Iran’s Free Trade Industrial and Special Economic Zones, Kish Free Zone Organization, Kish Investment and Development Company, Securities and Exchange Organization of Iran, Cen- tral Insurance of Iran, Organization for investment Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran (OIETAI), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA), Vice Presidency for Science and Technology, Iran National Innovation Fund, Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, New Towns Development Company, Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) and many other private and public decision makers and key players. As a content-oriented event KishINVEX® 2019 hosted 37 specialized side summits & con- ferences during the days of the event in Kish International Convention Center to introduce the potentials and opportunities in the different pillars of Iran’s economy. KishINVEX® 2019 revolved around synergy and uniting Iran’s capital market to reach the goal of domestic pro- duction development and assessing the role of capital market in domestic production de- velopment.
