BODRUM A charming area surrounded by its white house’s covered with pink flowers against the green hills throughout the coast overlooking the magnificent Castle of St John in the main port. Bodrum center is a bustling market town by day and by night it has an extensive range of disco’s, restaurants and night clubs to suit every taste. “Do not think that you will leave as you came, those of you who came before were never the same, they will always have their mind on Bodrum.” This is a very famous saying from Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı, known as Halikarnas Balıkçısı (the Fisherman of Halicarnossos), wrote about Bodrum. MAZI KOYU Mazı is a small village located about 25 miles east of Bodrum, Turkey which is the farthest village in the area from the popular resort city of Bodrum. It is located above a secluded cove along the Aegean Sea on the Bodrum Peninsula in southwestern Turkey and it has a beautiful Mediterranean climate. Construction is not permitted in this part of the Bodrum region as the village is still very authentic and tranquil, there are only a few guesthouses. Also, the distribution of B. phalloides specimens identified thus far from Turkey was revealed for the first time in this study.

    DADDrally Aegean 2019 DADDrally Aegean 2019 is being organized to give a start for our DADDrally Blacksea 2019 (3 Countries, 1 Story) “On the Trail of The Argonauts And Their Quest for The Golden Fleece” which follows the route of Argonauts who lived 3.300 years ago. DADDrally Aegean 2019 participants will cast off from Turgutreis/Bodrum, and enter Greece from Patmos Island, then via the route of Mykonos, Tinos, Andros, Skiros and Skopelos, they’ll arrive in Volos. The Rally will start on May 27th from Turgutreis D-Marin and will be accomplished on June 8th at Volos, with the participation of 15 yachts anticipated. On June 9th, we’ll be together at the recessional dinner with the participants of DADDrally Blacksea 2019. (For details and participation please visit: https://www.denizlerdeyiz.org/daddrally-aegean-2019 Turgutreis-Volos will take 12 days and 9 stopovers and any participant can join or leave at any anchorage as they wish to. On the route, sailors can reach to these airports: Milas/Bodrum (BJV), Kalymnos (JKL), Mykonos (JMK), Skiathos (JSI), Thessaloniki(SKG). For centuries, inhabitants of coastal areas have suffered from the effects of tsunamis. Turkey, with a coastline of 8333 km, has experienced many tsunamis. Historical records reveal that, during the observation period over 3000 years, the coastal and surrounding areas of Turkey have been affected by more than ninety tsunamis. These tended to cluster around the Marmara Sea, the city of Istanbul and the gulfs of Izmit, Izmir, Fethiye and Iskenderun. Each of the tsunami occurrences surveyed in this paper deserves further individual study. The most extensive available information concerns the tsunamis associated with the Istanbul Earthquakes of 1509 and 1894, the Eastern Mar- mara Earthquake in 1963 and that of Izmit in 1999, which disturbed the Marmara Sea; the Earthquake of 1939 in Erzincan in eastern Anatolia; and the 1968 Bartın Earthquake, which affected Fatsa and Amasra on the Black Sea.
