Case Study New Plant for Bmw Brilliance Automotive in China CASE STUDY NEW PLANT FOR BMW BRILLIANCE AUTOMOTIVE IN CHINA BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. chose a shielded network cabling systems from Datwyler for its new Chinese plant in Shenyang because this system inherently ensures high stability of the network. BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. is building a new plant with 30,000 square metres of production space at Shenyang in Liaoning province. The first vehicle to be manufactured at the factory will be a brand new BMW model that goes under the code name "F18" and is designed primarily for the Chi- nese market. The company is investing 200 million Euros in the new plant, the biggest automobile factory in China. BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. chose a high-speed net- workk cabling system from from Datwyler because of its high quality and good shielding. Highest bandwidth, excellent shielding The Datwyler cabling system, installed at the end of 2009, provides transmission rates of up to 1000 megahertz and meets all requirements of 1-gigabit Ethernet and 10-gigabit Ethernet standards (1000 base-T, 10G base-T). Due to the double data cable shielding with individual foil screened pairs and overall copper braid, the system inherent- ly ensures high stability of the network, providing effective protection against interference from external signals and between cables. In addition, it offers great performance reserve capacity. On-site services Datwyler in Shanghai trained the network technicians on site and coordinated and monitored the installation works for BMW Brilliance Automotive to ensure high quality and effi- cient operation.
