QUOTES FROM THE COACH: “I think we came out a little slow on Friday night and then played very well in the third to get the win,” said coach George Roll on the Findlay/Sacred Heart series. “On Saturday, I thought it was a pretty good hockey game. We created a lot of scoring chances and certainly gave them a few too many, as we had some bad turnovers, but overall I was pretty pleased with the weekend. It’s good to get a sweep under out belts at home. We want to make it a tough place for teams to come in to and hopefully we’re beginning to establish that it’s not going to be an easy place for opponents to come in and get wins.” On the upcoming weekend against Rensselaer and Union, Roll remarked, “I think it’s huge for us to get off to a good start at home in ECAC play. We’ve got a number of games coming up at home and if we’re going to continue to gain confidence and get better as a team, these two games are crucial for our success this year. RPI has got off to a good start; they’ve come from behind and won a couple key games. Union is also off to a great start with only one loss. Our league is going to be awfully competitive this year and I think on any given night anybody can win. We’ve got to be prepared for both games, work hard, compete, stay disciplined and do well on specialty teams. That’s been a formula for success for us so far.” KNIGHT NOTES Clarkson begins the ECAC campaign with five straight games at excelled in shorthanded situations this season.
