Media Guide.Qxd 2006 OHL PRIORITY SELECTION MEDIA GUIDE OHL PRIORITY SELECTION • MAY 6, 2006 On May 5 2001, the Ontario Hockey League conducted the annual Priority Selection process by way of the Internet for the first time in league history. The league web site received record traffic for the single day event, topping 140,000 visitor sessions and 1.8 million page views. The 2006 OHL Priority Selection will once again be conducted online on Saturday May 6, 2006 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at www.ontariohockeyleague.com. This media guide has been prepared as a resource to all media covering the 2006 OHL Priority Selection. Additional media resources, including player head and shoulders photos and draft day informa- tion will be posted on the league’s media information web site - www.ontariohockeyleague.com/media . Selected Players in the OHL OHL Member Teams are permitted to dress and play a maximum of three(3) 16 year old skaters selected in the OHL Priority Selection. Those 16 year old skaters that are allowed to dress and play are the first two(2) 16 year old skaters selected and/or those 16 year old skaters selected in the first two rounds of the OHL Priority Selection, and an additional 16 year old skater selected in any round of the OHL Priority Selection. All other 16-year-old players selected are eligible to be called up as an “affiliated player” or “floating affiliate player” and rotated into the line-up for a maximum of 10 games between the period of October 15 and the conclusion of the World Junior Hockey Championships or for any OHL regular season or playoff games when such player’s team has been eliminated from competition for that season. OHL Member Teams are allowed to dress and play 16 year old goaltenders selected in the OHL Priority Selection and would not be included in the three(3) 16 year old players that an OHL Member Team may oth- erwise dress and play. 4 OHL PRIORITY SELECTION • MAY 6, 2006 Order of Selection The order of selection is determined by inverse order of finish during the past OHL regular season schedule of games with non-playoff teams selecting ahead of playoff teams.
