Abstraction will be shown through several of its steps, from the Puteaux’s group and the Section d’Or Fair in 1912, personiﬁ ed by artists such as Delaunay or Kupka, and through cubo-futurism with a work by Marie Vassilieff dated from 1913, constructivism with Kassàk and Moholy-Nagy, orphism with Delaunay and Kupka, purism with Charchoune, Abstraction-Creation with Calder, Beothy and Tutundjian, and ﬁ nally, abstract painting and more specially the 50s’ Ecole de Paris with Poliakoff and Lanskoy.

The Minotaure Art Gallery

The Minotaure Art Gallery, created in 2002, is located rue des Beaux-Arts, at the previous address of the famous library which it has kept the name. Its founder, Benoit Sapiro, is fascinated by Russian and Central European artists of the ﬁ rst half of the twentieth century. The intense and passionate action leads by Benoit Sapiro, for over 20 years, is undeniably part of the booming of the Russian art market and of the rediscovery of artists coming from Russia and Eastern Europe at the beginning of the twentieth century.
