Sports 2018/19 promises to be another year full of sporting highlights. Yes, there may be medals and trophies ahead. For sure there will be triumphs and tears. But undoubtedly success will be measured by the smiles on the children's faces; by the muck on the children's limbs; and by that spine-tingling moment when a child gets to wear that school jersey for the first time...now that's success.. So to our Cumann na mBunscol GAA teams; our basketball teams; our 5-a-side and Futsal soccer teams; our Olympic Handball teams; our Athletics teams; our Rounders teams we say....'A Trophy carries dust. Memories last forever..'

Meath Schools Cross-Country at Navan Racecourse Our school cross-country team ran in their second major cross-country event of the year - the Meath School Cross-Country at Navan racecourse. A record 51 children represented the school on March 22nd! With approaching 100 children going to the line in each race, safely negotiating the course in one piece was an outstanding achievement in itself! However our athletes went the 'extra mile' with some incredible individual performances on the day. Our 3rd class girls team were lead home by Emily O'Brien (2nd place) to take 2nd team overall while the 3rd class boys team claimed bronze as they were led home by Conn Brennan (1st). There were also top 10 finishes for Eoin Davis (2nd Class - 4th place); Tomás Proudfoot (3rd class - 8th place); Cillian Yore (5th class - 8th place); Cillian Owens (6th class - 8th place). Most importantly, every single one of our athletes finished their races in very trying conditions meaning that we were in contention in every single race. Our full team was : Eoin Davis, Patrick Monaghan, Shay Kavanagh, Harry O'Brien, Cian English, Mika Smith, Luca Cleary, Leana Coyne, Rose Yore, Emily Keogan, Niamh Fitzsimons, Ciara Clarke, Kim Allen, Neesha Lynskey, Conn Brennan, Tomás Proudfoot, Patrick Smyth, Dylan O'Meara, Patrick Travers, Aaron Reilly, Molly O'Brien, Emily O'Brien, Mia Travers, Eleanor Fallon, Orla Whelan, Chloe English, Aaron McKenna, Michael Davis, Martin Keane, Harrison O'Brien, Erica Brady, Rubi-Mae Rennicks, Eva Keogan, Cara Monaghan, Cillian Yore, Charlie O'Brien, Colin Duffy, Dean O'Meara, Sean Keogan, Emma Smyth, Chloe Keane, Rachel Kearney, Aimee Maher, Cillian Owens, Donal Rispin, Jack Flynn, Jamie Tormay, Lauren Duffy, Amy Keogan, Leah Rafferty, Sadhbh Casserly and Kate Skelton.
