In 104 years of football history the BFA brings to you a home for football. One could only wish that so many great players who are not with us could witness the opening of the new administrative building. However, the BFA has not only made physical changes. As recent as August 30th, the constitution was revised at a special general meeting held at the Sir Garfield Sports Complex in Wildey. As a result, the Barbados Football Association will soon become an incorporated organization, which not only satisfies the requirements of FIFA but takes the governance of the Association to a new level. This year the association was able to enter several of our national teams in regional competitions. The senior women's team participated in the Caribbean leg of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers and for the first time ever in CONCACAF there was a Girls Under 15 tournament in which we competed. Our under 20 team participated in preliminary round of the FIFA World Cup and although they did not make it to the second round they remained unbeaten. However, the under 17 men's team made it to the second round of the Caribbean leg in the FIFA U17 World Cup qualifiers. In addition, it is with great joy to report that the senior men's team qualified for the round 2 in the CFU Cup. More exciting times are ahead as October promises to be an exciting month and the start to a new era in Barbados' football community. We feel honoured to be part of the Soccerex Americas forum to be held in Barbados on the 21st and 22nd of October. This is the biggest Soccerex expo in the world when the country welcomes a number of potential investors. The BFA is very happy to be a part of such a memorable event and hopes that this event will open doors for future success, not only for the game of football, but for the country on a whole. Soccerex as part of their contribution will be hosting a showcase, where players from the national U17 and U20 selection will be trying to impress top coaches in the hopes of getting chosen for trials professionally. 2 CFU TOURNAMENTS Barbados vs Bonaire Men’sCaribbeanCupRound1Group3 This match was simply a do or die for both teams as either side needed to win in order to qualify for round 2. But this game came down to who wanted it more. Barbados handed Bonaire a 4 - 1 thumping and sent them packing. Captain Emerson Boyce opened the scoring with a 55th minute strike, Romario Harewood slotted home a goal in the 67th and Mario Harte's double strike in the 74th and 76th minutes added insult to injury. Bonaire was able to salvage some pride as Yurick Sienpaul converted a penalty kick in the 90th. Round 2 takes place October 6th - 14th in which 16 teams will take part. STRATEGIC PLAN 2020+ B E R M U D A F O O T B A L L A S S O C I A T I O N " G A M E F O R L I F E " INTRODUCTION It is often said, “a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” As with any journey worth taking, a plan should be the guide, the steps should be measured, and the purpose should be clear. The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) has a long tradition of inspiring, cultivating and creating leaders on and off the playing field. And though this is and always will be a never-ending journey for the BFA, we are committed to making sure the steps taken benefit all those that look to the Association for guidance and leadership. The Executive Council, in collaboration with stakeholders, developed this Strategic Plan to be used as our guide for the next four years. This plan is built aroundthe core values upon which the Association operates; good governance, integrity, transparency, and teamwork to name a few. The Strategic Plan 2020+ takes into consideration and further develops many of the elements outlined in our previous Strategic Plan 2016. The goals and objectives throughout this plan summarize the journey before us and indicates how our steps will be measured. Ultimately, the intended outcome and success of this Strategic Plan is dependant on the participation of all stakeholders. The perseverance among our Executive Council, Full Member Clubs and Associations, the Bermuda Government, sponsors, and the entire football family prove that with great teamwork and effort our goals can be achieved.

Although I have been in remission for 6 yrs my kidneys were affected to the point that they completely failed in 2012 when I suffered a bout of pneumonia. It was then that I was put on dialysis and the transplant list. My life then changed dramatically. I entered hospital to have an operation so I could commence Dialysis 3 times a week. To enable me to lead a somewhat normal life my Dialysis commences at 4.30 am. Starting this early enables me to attend Bermuda College where Ryan Day has most definitely been good news for the theatre community in Bermuda.

Welcome to the Congress To our Member Associations’ Presidents, Delegates and Guests, We begin this welcome letter for our 34th Concacaf Ordinary Congress with a great sense of pride about Concacaf. As we look back on last year — in fact, the last three years since our administration took office — it is remarkable how much our organization has accomplished on our journey to move football forward throughout the region. We are ONE family that works within a culture defined by a love for our game, with ONE mutual goal of becoming champions, on and off the field. Guided by our brand pillars of Unity, Football, Quality and Access, we continue to make excellent progress in the execution of our regional strategy. As a result, we are happy to report on another record year for our Confederation. First, from a competition standpoint, we have seen the introduction and expansion of tournaments aimed at raising the quality of Concacaf’s football, while creating more access to all of the game’s stakeholders. • There is tremendous pride in the launch of the Concacaf Nations League. When we see the results and emotions from our federation’s presidents, coaches, players, fans and the media, we can already perceive how our joint efforts are generating benefits of increased competition and development for the Confederation as a whole. • The expansion of the Concacaf Gold Cup, from 12 to 16 nations, is another signature achievement. More importantly, for the first time in the 15 editions of the competition, we are bringing our top national team championship to a Caribbean and Central American pitch.
