2 2021 KEY MILESTONES

3 Between Tunney’s Pasture and Dominion stations, work has begun to prepare for the detour along Scott St. which will begin in April of next year.

4 SCOTT STREET DETOUR ➢ Buses will move onto Scott St from Transitway in April 2022. ➢ Widening of Scott St, west of Tunney’s Pasture, to accommodate additional bus traffic ➢ MUPs and traffic signals will be relocated during the detour ➢ Fencing will be in place around work zones ➢ Construction of a transit-only bridge at Roosevelt Ave

5 SCOTT STREET DETOUR

➢ This Transitway detour will result in buses operating in general traffic along Scott Street between Tunney’s Pasture Station and Churchill avenue. Scott street is being widened to accommodate an exclusive eastbound transit lane between Lanark Avenue and . ➢ Additionally, the MUP on the north side of Scott Street will be increased in width to four metres. During the Transitway detour, the Westboro Station platforms will be relocated to Scott Street. Detours along Scott street to facilitate this work will be in place starting in the fall. ➢ West of Churchill Avenue, Scott Street will be extended as a temporary transitway roadway to . This transit-only roadway will be on the south side of the existing Transitway until a point just east of Roosevelt Avenue, at which point it will cross to the north side of the existing Transitway (south of Workman Avenue) until it meets the Sir John A MacDonald Parkway in the vicinity of existing Dominion Station. Prior to the start of the Transitway detour, noise mitigation will be installed along the south side of Workman avenue. Aspects of the design of this noise mitigation are still being worked on and more information will be available prior to the start of the detour next April.

6 SCOTT ST. DETOUR - ROOSEVELT PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE AT DOMINION AVE. ➢ Utilities relocation work is currently ongoing prior to bridge removal later this spring ➢ Summer installation of temporary new bridge for buses to cross over Transitway ➢ Sound buffering echo barriers will be installed near residential area at Workman/Dominion ➢ This is to allow construction of the station and guideway in Transitway trench while maintaining bus routes 7 SCOTT STREET DETOUR

➢During the detour, the new roadway will cross the transitway trench on a new temporary transit-only bridge which will be installed this summer. ➢ In order to build this bridge, the existing Roosevelt pedestrian bridge must be removed. ➢This removal will occur in May, the date has yet to be finalized. Utility relocation and other prepatory works for the pedestrian bridge removal and bus bridge installation are underway. ➢Pedestrians will be detoured to the east or the west (to cross the Transitway at either Churchill Avenue or at the Sir John A MacDonald Parkway) for the duration of this work and the Scott street Transitway detour. The pedestrian detour signage will be posted two weeks in advance of the detour starting. ➢Post construction, following the removal of the Transitway detours, the Roosevelt pedestrian Bridge will be reinstated in its original alignment.

10 KITCHISSIPPI LOOKOUT AND SJAM

➢ Utilities relocation between Atlantis Ave and SJAM, to Kitchissippi Lookout: May to July ➢ Work at Atlantis Avenue requires a temporary road closure May-June 2021 ➢ Boreholes to determine locations of rock underway through May

11 KITCHISSIPPI LOOKOUT AND SJAM

➢North of the Kìchì Sìbì station area, utilities relocation work between Atlantis avenue, SJAM and Kitchissipi Lookout is advancing. ➢This work will require a closure of Atlantis avenue between Lanark and Selby. Local access for residents will be maintained and a notice of road closure will be delivered to affected residents ahead of the closure starting, which is currently anticipated for mid-May. ➢The nature of the utilities relocation work won’t require major excavation or high truck traffic in the area

12 KÌCHÌ SÌBÌ STATION AREA – ALIGNMENT

13 KÌCHÌ SÌBÌ STATION AREA – ALIGNMENT

➢The image in the previous slide is a depiction of the future track alignment from Kìchì Sìbì station indicating the transition from the above ground to below ground alignment. ➢ From the station, the train will continue at-grade until proceeding into a trench behind the Canadian Institute for Health Information which will lead into the parkway tunnel and Rochester Field. ➢From grade it is a gradual 5% slope to the tunnel depth of approximately 10.5 metres

14 SLURRY PLANT AT SJAM

15 SLURRY PLANT AT SJAM

➢Installation of the slurry walls along the area behind 655 Richmond between Rochester Field and Cleary avenue, which will provide support to the parkway tunnel excavation, is progressing. Image on the previous and next slide of operations at this site.

16 SLURRY PLANT OPERATIONS ALONG SJAM

17 SLURRY PLANT AT SJAM

➢ Some complaints have been received from residents regarding issues related to loud music, profanity and dust. KEV endeavors to be a good neighbour and responsive to complaints – when they are received corrective messaging is always issued to on- site crews. ➢To control dust, the access road within this site is currently sprayed and swept at least twice a day. A dust suppressant will be laid down on the road within the next two weeks. This will reduce the need for daily spraying and sweeping but spraying and sweeping will continue on an as needed basis. These mitigation efforts help to reduce dust but cannot completely eliminate it.

18 CLEARY AVENUE

➢Cleary and Richmond area utilities work is ongoing with manholes and West Nepean Collector excavation ➢New watermain installation this summer

19 CLEARY AVENUE

➢ In the Cleary avenue and Richmond road area, excavation tied to utility relocation work, in order to make room for the construction of the tunnel, is continuing. ➢ Installation of a new 13m deep sanitary manhole for the West Nepean Collector sewer is ongoing. Installation of a new watermain will occur this summer, with completion expected in August. During that work, road detours will be implemented. ➢Utilities relocation work in this area is expected to be completed by the end of the year. ➢Excavation work for the portion of the tunnel across Cleary avenue, connecting Byron Linear Park and SJAM portions, will start once the utility relocation work is completed.

20 CLEARY AVENUE ➢ The red shading represents where the alignment and excavation does cross Cleary avenue, work which will start next year once all the utility relocations in this area are complete. Detours will be required to complete this work.

➢ The pink line indicates the sidewalks which will maintain pedestrian access.

21 SHERBOURNE STATION AREA

➢ Relocation of utilities is ongoing, anticipated to be completed this summer. ➢ Drilling of soldier piles ongoing for the excavation of the tunnel ➢ Excavation work within Byron Linear Park is expected to begin in late June

28 PARKWAY GUIDEWAY - STRUCTURES

29 PARKWAY GUIDEWAY - STRUCTURES

➢The previous slide contains figures for materials used to build the tunnel structure: 813 cubic meters of concrete, 1,001 square meters of formwork and 111 tons of rebar will be installed this year for the Byron Linear Park portion between Cleary avenue and Woodroffe avenue. ➢To quantify: 1,000 square meters is equivalent to approximately 2/3 the size of an NHL rink, 111 tons is within the range of the average weight of a blue whale. ➢For the tunnel portion between Rochester Field and Cleary avenue, 9,256 cubic meters of concrete, 11,022 square meters of formwork and 1,124 tons of rebar will be installed this year. ➢To quantify: 1,100 tons would be roughly equivalent to 9 blue whales. 11,00 square meters is approximately 7 times the size of an NHL rink.
